Sagaing Region is an administrative region of Myanmar, located in the north-western part of the country between latitude 21° 30' north and longitude 94° 97' east. It is bordered by India’s Nagaland, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh States to the north, Kachin State, Shan State, and Mandalay Region to the east, Mandalay Region and Magway Region to the south, with the Ayeyarwady River forming a greater part of its eastern and also southern boundary, and Chin State and India to the west. The region has an area of 93,527 km2. In 1996, it had a population of over 5,300,000 while its population in 2012 was 6,600,000. The urban population in 2012 was 1,230,000 and the rural population was 5,360,000. The capital is Monywa.
Mandalay Region is an administrative division of Myanmar. It is located in the center of the country, bordering Sagaing Region and Magway Region to the west, Shan State to the east, and Bago Region and Kayin State to the south. The regional capital is Mandalay. In the south of the division lies the national capital of Nay Pyi Taw. The division consists of seven districts, which are subdivided into 30 townships and 2,320 wards and village-tracts.
Myingyan is a city and district in the Mandalay Division of central Myanmar, previously, it was a district in the Meiktila Division of Upper Burma. It is currently the capital of Myingyan Township and lies along the National Highway 2. As of 2014, the city had a population of 276,096 and the district had 1,055,957. It lies in the valley of the Ayeyarwady River, to the south of Mandalay, on the east bank of the river. The area around the town is flat, especially to the north and along the banks of the Ayeyarwady. Inland the country rises in gently undulating slopes. The most noticeable feature is Popa Hill, an extinct volcano, to the south-east. The highest peak is 4,962 ft. above sea-level. The climate is dry, with high south winds from March until September. The annual rainfall averages about 35 in. The temperature varies between 106 and 70 Fahrenheit. The ordinary crops are millet, sesame, cotton, maize, rice and a great variety of peas and beans. There are no forests, but a great deal of low scrubland. Myingyan is the head of the branch railway to Thazi and the main line between Yangon and Mandalay.

Mandalay District is a district of the Mandalay Division in central Myanmar. Though the district used to consist of two cities, Mandalay and Amarapura, today, with the urban sprawl of Mandalay capturing Amarapura and Patheingyi, the district and the city of Mandalay are one and the same.
Pyin Oo Lwin District is a district of the Mandalay Region in central Burma. It lies northeast of Mandalay, with the Myitnge River as its southern boundary. To the east it is bordered by Shan State and in part by the Chaung Magyi. It goes north as far as the town of Dakaung where it adjoins Htigyaing Township, Katha District in Sagaing Region. Its western boundary, is for the most part the Irrawaddy, but a very small portion of Thabeikkyin Township is west of the Irrawaddy, near the town of Baw in Sagaing Region. To the southwest it borders Mandalay District.
Thabeikkyin Township is a township of Pyin Oo Lwin District in the Mandalay Region of Burma. It is the northern-most township in Pyin Oo Lwin District and, although it primarily lies on the east bank of the Irrawaddy, it has a small enclave on the western bank extending as far as the village of Gagalaw, near the town of Baw in Katha District, Sagaing Region. On the south it borders Singu Township, on the east, Mogote Township and further north Shan State, while it abuts Tigyaing Township of Sagaing Region to the north.
Meiktila District is a district of the Mandalay Division in central Burma.
Yamethin Township is a township of Yamethin District in the Mandalay Region of Burma (Myanmar). The administrative seat and principal city is Yamethin, which is also the major rail stop in the township.
Taungdwingyi Township(Burmese: တောင်တွင်းကြီး မြို့နယ်) is a township of Magway District in the Magway Division of Myanmar. The principal town is Taungdwingyi. People have inhabited this area for thousands of years, and one of the earliest civilizations of Myanmar, Beikthano, the ancient Pyu city, is located near the town. The territorial area is planes, and rice, beans, grains, sugarcane, and other plants were grown there.

It is located on the plains between the Mu River and the Ayeyarwady River. The ancient palace of King Alaungmintaya is being excavated there. Its administrative seat is the city of Shwebo.
