Sri also transliterated as Sree, Shri, Shree, Si or Seri is a word of Sanskrit origin. Hindus worship a popularly known "yantra" or tool called Shree Yantra which is to worship the goddess of wealth. It is also used in South Asia and Southeast Asia as a polite form of address equivalent to the English "Mr." or "Ms." in written and spoken language, but also as a title of veneration for deities, e.g., the Hindu goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, is known as Sree. It is widely used in South and Southeast Asian languages such as in Indonesian, Javanese, Balinese, Sinhalese, Thai, Tamil, Hindi and Malay.

Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, also known by his spiritual name, Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti, and known as Bábá (বাবা) ("Father") to his disciples, was a Spiritual Guru, Indian philosopher, yogi, author, social revolutionary, poet, composer, and linguist. Sarkar was the founder of Ananda Marga in 1955, a spiritual and social organisation that offers instruction in meditation and yoga. Gyani Zail Singh, seventh President of India, has said about Sarkar: "Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar was one of the greatest modern philosophers of India."

Taḷḷapāka Annamācārya was a 15th-century Hindu saint born to Lakkamamba and Narayana Suri,and is the earliest known Indian musician to compose songs called sankirtanas in praise of the god Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu. Chadalavada Sundararamasastri (1865–1925) was Telugu Pundit and owner of Telugu Publishing house, Saradamba Vilasa Mudraksharashala.
