The match was played on 3 August 1997 at Wembley Stadium and contested by Manchester United, who had won the 1996–97 FA Premier League, and Chelsea, who had won the 1996–97 FA Cup. Manchester United won the match 4–2 on penalties after the match had finished at 1–1 after 90 minutes.
The 1995 FA Charity Shield was the 73rd FA Charity Shield, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Premier League and FA Cup competitions. The match was played on 13 August 1995 at Wembley Stadium and contested by Blackburn Rovers, who had won the Premier League and FA Cup winners Everton. It was Blackburn's second successive Charity Shield appearance, while Everton were appearing in their eleventh and their first since 1987. Everton won the match 1–0 with a goal from Vinny Samways when he caught Tim Flowers off his line and lifted the ball over him from the left of the penalty area and into the right corner of the net. Dave Watson lifted the trophy for Everton.

The show premiered on Sunday, March 14, 2010. The two-hour season finale was on Sunday, May 23, 2010, 9–11 p.m., ET/PT and the winner was Poison lead singer and Rock of Love star Bret Michaels. Michaels also returned for All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Michaels was the only person from this season to return. Michaels was also the only previous winner to return and was ironically fired first, coming in 14th.

Country music star John Rich was named the winner defeating actress Marlee Matlin. Lil Jon, La Toya Jackson, Gary Busey, and Lisa Rinna all returned for All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Jackson and Busey placed twelfth and sixth, respectively, and both won $20,000 for their charities money while Lil Jon and Rinna were both semifinalists placing third and fourth, respectively, and Jon raised $160,000 and Rinna raised $504,500 resulting in her improving immensely from her first season.
Declan Macey is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, Emmerdale, portrayed by Jason Merrells. He was introduced on 15 April 2010. The Emmerdale website has described the character by saying "Declan is a shrewd businessman who knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. He's prepared to be unpopular if it's good for business and the people in the village recognise his confidence. He does have a softer side but is not the most attentive husband in the world." In September 2014, Merrells confirmed he had left the show. Declan made his final appearance on 13 October 2014 after exposing the crimes that he committed with his wife, Charity Dingle ; she framed her cousin Sam and his girlfriend Rachel Breckle for starting a fire at Home Farm — which Declan was responsible for during his attempt to commit suicidal after becoming on the verge of financial bankruptcy — before causing the events of Declan embarking on a monthly insurance fraud.

This edition featured a Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton at Wembley Stadium. Liverpool achieved a First Division and FA Cup double in 1985–86 so they faced Everton who finished as runners-up in the League. The match was held on 16 August 1986.
The 1987 FA Charity Shield was the 65th Charity Shield, a football match contested by the holders of the Football League First Division and FA Cup. This edition was contested between Everton and Coventry City at Wembley on Saturday 1 August 1987. Everton had won the 1986–87 Football League and Coventry had won the 1987 FA Cup Final to qualify for the season opener for the first time. It was played two weeks before the new league season kicked off. This was Everton's fourth successive appearance in the Charity Shield. The match was shown live on ITV with commentary from Brian Moore and Ian St. John.

The match was held on 18 August 1984 and was won 1–0 by Everton after an own goal from Bruce Grobbelaar. Graeme Sharp was straight in on goal and tried to round Grobbelaar, but the ball was blocked on the line by Alan Hansen and ricocheted straight at the shins of Grobbelaar and back into the net.
