Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic

Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic is a multi speciality technology oriented college located at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. It is also the first polytechnic college in Arunachal Pradesh under the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education (APSCTE), Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic has also earned the credit of being the first Institution in the state to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification in June 2006.

Itanagar Capital City in Arunachal Pradesh, India

Location

Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic is located at Itanagar in the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh in the foothills of the Eastern Himalaya. It is 30 km from Banderdewa, the border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, and about 410 km from Guwahati. [4]

Campus activities

Recreation, Entertainment, Information, and Literary Activity (REILA), an annual recreational program, takes place every year in the month of February. This programme is being handled by the Students' Union of Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic (SURGGP), Itanagar.

Anini is the headquarters of the Dibang Valley district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in Northeast India. Anini was also the district headquarters of the undivided Dibang Valley district. History of the Republic of India aspect of history

The history of the Republic of India begins on 26 January 1950. The country became an independent nation within the British Commonwealth on 15 August 1947. Concurrently the Muslim-majority northwest and east of British India was separated into the Dominion of Pakistan, by the partition of India. The partition led to a population transfer of more than 10 million people between India and Pakistan and the death of about one million people. Indian National Congress leader Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of India, but the leader most associated with the independence struggle, Mahatma Gandhi, accepted no office. The new constitution of 1950 made India a democratic country.

The North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) was one of the political divisions in British India and later the Republic of India until 20 January 1972, when it became the Union Territory of Arunachal Pradesh. Ram D. Pradhan is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer, who served as Union Home Secretary and Governor of Arunachal Pradesh during the Rajiv Gandhi government. Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) is the oldest university in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located in the Rono Hills of Doimukh village, about nine miles from the state capital, Itanagar.
