Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ; Malay: Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya) is a local authority which is in charge of the Subang Jaya city and the southern parts of Petaling district. This agency is under Selangor state government of Malaysia. MPSJ are responsible for the public's health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. The MPSJ headquarters is located in UEP Subang Jaya.
In the 1970s the Selangor state government established the Petaling District Council (Majlis Daerah Petaling, MDP) under section 4 of the Local Government Act 1976. In 1994, the state government decided to upgrade the authority to the status of a municipal council (majlis perbandaran), and rename it the Subang Jaya Municipal Council. The Subang Jaya Municipal Council was formed on 1 January 1997, by combining the existing Petaling District Council with several areas ceded from the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MPPJ) and Shah Alam Municipal Council (MPSA).
In December 2019 Subang Jaya Municipal Council get the approval from federal government to elevate into City Council status becoming Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), waiting to be gazetted in 2020. [2]

In parliamentary terms, MPSJ administrative area covers the parliamentary constituency of Puchong and Subang in its entirety, as well as parts of Kota Raja which mainly cover USJ 23-27, Putra Heights and Kampung Bukit Lanchong. Subang Jaya city itself, most part of USJ (USJ 1-22), Kinrara, and northern part of Puchong lies within the Subang constituency, while Seri Kembangan, and southern part of Puchong falls within the Puchong constituency.
The gazetted decision defined the authority's area of 16,180 hectares and divided it into seven Planning Blocks in accordance with the Subang Jaya Municipal Council Local Plan 2035 (RTMPSJ 2035) [3] :

Kinrara is a township in Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. The Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve is situated to its south. Island & Peninsular Berhad commenced the township development under Perumahan Kinrara Berhad in 1991. The only link road to the development then was via Jalan Puchong before entering Kinrara Army Camp road. Bandar Kinrara 1 was constructed for low-cost terrace houses before Bandar Kinrara 2 double storey terraces begun construction. The construction of Bukit Jalil Highway helped Bandar Kinrara to expand the development phase on both side of the highway. An underpass linked both sides of the development.
Bandar Sunway or Sunway City is a township in Subang Jaya, Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located 13 km southwest of Kuala Lumpur, and 9 km southeast of the Subang Airport. This township got its name from the developer - Sunway Group, which is also got its name from Sungai Way (双溪威), a new village in Petaling Jaya.
Putra Heights is a residential township in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located within the mukim of Damansara. The township is visible by the tall and famous Bukit Cermin in Putra Heights.
Persiaran Kewajipan is a major road in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. The road connects from central Subang Jaya through USJ to Putra Heights near the city's south interchange at Damansara–Puchong Expressway E11 (LDP). It is the busiest road in Subang Jaya during rush hour from/to Kuala Lumpur. This driveway is maintained by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council or Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ).
