T'anta wawa ("bread baby", from Aymara and Quechua t'anta "bread" and wawa "child, baby"; [1] [2] [3] hispanicized names: guagua de pan, tantaguaguas, tantahuahua, wawas de pan, tantawawas and muñecas de pan) is a type of sweet roll shaped and decorated in the form of a small child or infant. They are generally made of wheat and sometimes contain a sweet filling. They are made and eaten as part of ancestral rites in Andean regions of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, the south of Colombia, and the north of Argentina, mainly on All Souls' Day, but also as part of agricultural festivals, carnivals, and Christmas.

Ecuador

T'anta wawa are consumed on November 2 all over the Andean region. They are eaten with colada morada. They are made by families and exchanged among groups of family and friends and given to godchildren. In rural cemeteries and indigenous communities, such as Tungurahua Province, they are used as offerings as part of a ceremony of encounter with one's ancestors.

Aymara and Quechua people use it to carry small children or various other items in it on their backs. It is similar to a lliklla and sometimes regarded as a synonym.

Wayna Potosí (Oruro)

Wayna Potosí is a mountain in the Andes of Bolivia, about 4,969 metres (16,302 ft) high. It is located in the Oruro Department, Sajama Province, Turku Municipality, Turku Canton, northwest of Turku (Turco). The Turku River originates near the mountain. It is a left tributary of the Lauca River.

Wilca is an archaeological site in Peru. It is situated in the Amazonas Region, Utcubamba Province, in the east of the Cajaruro District, near the border with the Bongara Province.

Choquepirhua (Arequipa)

Choquepirhua is a mountain in the Chila mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,400 metres (17,717 ft) high. It lies in the Arequipa Region, Castilla Province, on the border of the districts of Chachas and Choco. Choquepirhua is situated south of Chila.

Chuquiananta

Chuquiananta is a mountain in the Andes of southern Peru, about 5,300 metres (17,388 ft) high. It is situated in the Moquegua Region, Mariscal Nieto Province, Torata District, and in the Tacna Region, Candarave Province, Camilaca District. Chuquiananta lies south-west of Tutupaca volcano, south-east of Pomani.

Qullpa (Chumbivilcas-La Unión)

Qullpa is a mountain in the Wansu mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,100 metres (16,732 ft) high. It is situated in the Arequipa Region, La Unión Province, Puyca District, and in the Cusco Region, Chumbivilcas Province, Santo Tomás District. It lies northwest of the mountains Qullpa K'uchu and Minasniyuq.

Chuqi Pirwa is a mountain in the Andes of Peru, about 5,200 m (17,100 ft) high. It is situated in the Cusco Region, Espinar Province, Condoroma District, and in the Puno Region, Lampa Province, Ocuviri District. Chuqi Pirwa lies southwest of Sawanani Lake (Saguanani) and northwest of Qullqi Q'awa.

Hatun Qurini

Cuncapata is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,400 metres (17,717 ft) high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canchis Province, Pitumarca District. Cuncapata lies southwest of the mountain Jatunñaño Punta, north of the lake Sibinacocha and southeast of Chumpe.

Pajo (mountain)

Pajo (possibly from Aymara for light brown, reddish, or ' is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,400 metres high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Canchis Province, Pitumarca District, northwest of Sibinacocha. It lies north of the peak of Uchuy Milla, northeast of Huayruro Punco and southeast of Osjollo Anante and Japu Japu. East of Pajo there is a valley with an intermittent stream named Puca orco. Its waters flow to Sibinacocha.

Ccolcce (Cusco)

Ccolcce or Jolje Cruz is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,400 metres (17,717 ft) high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Quispicanchi Province, Marcapata District. Ccolcce lies north to northwest of Yanajasa and Kiswarniyuq. It is situated between the rivers Sayapata and Cajamayu. They flow to Arasa River (Araza) in the north.

Pisquioc is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru, about 5,000 m (16,000 ft) high. It is located in the Cusco Region, Quispicanchi Province, Marcapata District, south of Aquichua.

Lake Sacacanicocha

Lake Sacacanicocha is a lake in the Cusco Region in Peru. It lies in the Canchis Province, Sicuani District. It is situated at a height of 4,301 m (14,111 ft).

Huarisallana
