Thái Thụy is a rural district of Thái Bình Province in the Red River Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 267,012. [1] The district covers an area of 257 km². The district capital lies at Diêm Điền. [1]

Thái Bình is a coastal eastern province in the Red River Delta region of northern Vietnam. Its name is Sino-Vietnamese (太平 Tàipíng) for "great peace." Pacific Province. It is about 18 km from Nam Định, 70 km from Haiphong, and 110 km from Hanoi.
