The Bride Is Much Too Beautiful (French: La mariée est trop belle) is a 1956 French comedy film directed by Pierre Gaspard-Huit and starring Brigitte Bardot, Micheline Presle and Louis Jourdan. [2] It is also known by the alternative title of Her Bridal Night. [3]

Contents

The film is based on the 1954 novel of the same title by Odette Joyeux. It was shot at the Billancourt Studios in Paris and on location in Saint-Émilion in Southern France. The sets were designed by art director Jean d'Eaubonne.

Plot

A rural girl discovered by a Paris magazine becomes an urban supermodel.

Christine Gouze-Rénal was a French film and television producer. A graduate in literature and art history and former Résistance member, she became in 1956 France's first female film producer with The Bride Is Much Too Beautiful, starring Brigitte Bardot.

Bardot is a French television drama series about the actress and model Brigitte Bardot. It was created and directed by Danièle Thompson and Christopher Thompson, and stars the newcomer Julia de Nunez in the title role. The six 52-minute episodes were broadcast on France 2 from May 8, 2023.
