Synopsis

Max, a troubled man, starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child. [1]

In September 2021, James DeMonaco confirmed to Collider to be directing a paranoid psychological horror-thriller titled The Home, with Pete Davidson in the lead role. [2] Produced by Miramax, principal photography took place in the New Jersey cities of Denville, Elizabeth and Nutley, from late January to early April 2022. [1] [3] The closed senior living facility in Denville, Saint Francis Residential Community, served as the titular "home". [4] By April 2022, Marilee Talkington joined the cast. [5]

Release

In October 2023, Lionsgate acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, and set an early 2024 theatrical release. [6]
