The Life of Chuck is an upcoming American science fiction drama film written and directed by Mike Flanagan. It is an adaptation of the Stephen King novella published in the 2020 collection If It Bleeds .

Premise

This film is based on the novella that is presented in reverse order. Chuck travels backwards in time viewing his life after dying. In viewing past events, he becomes obsessed with a former student that might have a special gift.

Production

The project was announced in May 2023, with Tom Hiddleston and Mark Hamill set to star for director Mike Flanagan. An adaptation of a Stephen King novella, the film was stated to match in tone with dramas such as Stand by Me , The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile . [1] Filming began in Alabama under a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement in October, with Deadline Hollywood reporting Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan and Jacob Tremblay were added to the cast, [2] and Flanagan himself announcing the full cast a few days later. [3] Filming wrapped on November 16, 2023. [4]

Post-production

In December 2023, it was revealed that Flanagan would also serve as the editor. [5]
