The twenty-eighth season of the animated television series The Simpsons began airing on Fox in the United States on September 25, 2016, and ended on May 21, 2017. [1] On May 4, 2015, Fox announced that The Simpsons had been renewed for season 28. [2]

The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of working-class life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture and society, television, and the human condition.

"The Caper Chase" is the nineteenth episode of the twenty-eighth season of the animated television series The Simpsons, and the 615th episode of the series overall. It aired in the United States on Fox on April 2, 2017.

Trump University was an American for-profit education company that ran a real estate training program from 2005 until 2010. It was owned and operated by The Trump Organization. After multiple lawsuits, it is now defunct. It was founded by Donald Trump and his associates, Michael Sexton and Jonathan Spitalny, in 2004. The company offered courses in real estate, asset management, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation.

This season also includes the show's first hour-long episode, "The Great Phatsby", a parody of The Great Gatsby . [5] Other noteworthy events and gags include a Pokémon Go -themed episode ("Looking for Mr. Goodbart"), [6] couch gags spoofing Robot Chicken and Adventure Time , an episode that shows how Homer learned to feel better with food ("Fatzcarraldo"), Mr. Burns hiring all of the Simpsons (except Homer) to become his "pretend" family ("Friends and Family"), and Glenn Close returning as Mona ("Fatzcarraldo"). The episode aired in the United States on Fox on January 15, 2017. It marks the first hour-long episode of the series.

<i>Pokémon Go</i> augmented reality mobile game based on the Pokémon franchise

Pokémon Go is an augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, it was first released in certain countries in July 2016, and in other regions over the next few months. The game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic and Nintendo by way of The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to over 460 by 2019.

This was the final season scored by longtime Simpsons composer Alf Clausen. This also marked the first season where former recurring guest star Kevin Michael Richardson joined the regular supporting cast, starting with the episode "The Last Traction Hero".

Alf Heiberg Clausen is an American film and television composer. He is best known for his work scoring many episodes of The Simpsons, of which he had been the sole composer between 1990 and 2017. Clausen has scored or orchestrated music for more than 30 films and television shows, including Moonlighting, The Naked Gun, ALF and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Clausen received an Honorary Doctorate of Music from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 1996.

Kevin Michael Richardson American actor and voice actor

Kevin Michael Richardson is an American actor and voice actor, who has played a multitude of characters in animated series and video games. He is known for his distinctively deep voice and has been playing mostly villainous characters since the 1990s. For voicing the Joker in The Batman (2004–08), he was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards.

"The Last Traction Hero" is the ninth episode of the twenty-eighth season of the animated television series The Simpsons, and the 605th episode of the series overall. It aired in the United States on Fox on December 4, 2016. This is the first episode where former recurring guest star Kevin Michael Richardson joined the regular supporting cast.
