Boyce duets with her husband Gary Koreiba on the track "Amazing Love for Me". Production duties were done by Bryan Lenox while James Hollihan, Jr. produced the track "The Sound of Your Voice".
So Glad I Know is the first gospel album by American R&B singer Deniece Williams, released in 1986 on Sparrow Records. This is Williams' first full-length gospel album. On Williams' previous albums, she would include a gospel song, such as "Whiter Than Snow" from Let's Hear It for the Boy and "I Believe in Miracles" from Niecy. Those two songs and many others from previous and subsequent releases were compiled into an album of gospel material called From the Beginning (1990). One of the gospel tracks "They Say", originally from Williams' 1983 album I'm So Proud, featured a duet with Earth, Wind & Fire lead singer Philip Bailey. This new recording features a duet with American Christian singer Sandi Patti, for which they won a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance by a Duo or Group. Williams also won a Grammy for Best Soul Gospel Performance, Female for her rendition of the gospel hymn "I Surrender All" at the 29th Annual Grammy Awards. So Glad I Know reached number 6 on the Top Christian Albums and number 7 on the Top Gospel Albums charts in Billboard magazine.

Williams re-recorded the track "Healing" from her 1986 album Hot on the Trail for this album. Some North American CD editions of Special Love contained a bonus track of "Do You Hear What I Hear?", originally recorded for the 1988 Sparrow Records Christmas album, simply titled Christmas co-produced by Christian singer-songwriter Roby Duke. Williams' then-husband Brad Westering produced the album. Special Love peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.

It is a collection of gospel songs Williams had recorded during her years at Columbia Records. Williams recorded one gospel song on each of her albums starting with 1976's "Watching Over" from This Is Niecy to her cover of the Michael Jackson Captain EO track "We Are Here to Change the World" from 1988's As Good As It Gets. Free the Fire is the 33rd studio album by Christian music vocal group The Imperials released in 1988. This is their third and final album on the Myrrh label and after more than 10 years, their final album overall on Word Records. The Imperials would switch over to Star Song Records for their next album Love's Still Changing Hearts (1990). It is also the last time for the lineup of Jimmie Lee Sloas, Ron Hemby, David Will and Armond Morales from their previous album This Year's Model (1987) as Sloas left the group in 1989 to focus more behind the scenes as a bass guitar player, producer and songwriter and would go on to form the Christian Rock band Dogs of Peace with former Whiteheart guitarist and vocalist Gordon Kennedy. It was a reunion of sorts as the Imperials reunited with Bill Schnee who produced their 1982 album Stand by the Power and the husband and wife team of Michael and Stormie Omartian with music and lyrics on the title song. Baritone singer David Will sings lead on the Cliff Richard track "Better Than I Know Myself" from Richard's 1981 album Wired for Sound. Free the Fire debuted and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Top Inspirational Albums chart.
Love & Mercy is the seventh studio album by Christian singer-songwriter Kathy Troccoli. It was released on April 29, 1997 on Reunion Records. The lead single "Love One Another" features Troccoli and 40 plus Christian artists like Amy Grant, Sandi Patty, Michael W. Smith and Carman. The song was released commercially as a CD single on March 18, 1997 to Christian retail stores in advance of the album's release and the single's proceeds went to His Touch Ministries in Houston, Texas, which is a non-profit organization that was established to educate the church, provide support groups for HIV victims, create teams to visit AIDS patients and provide housing for men, women and children suffering from the illness. The album's third single "A Baby's Prayer" is a pro-life song that Troccoli and Scott Brasher wrote that explores the abortion issue from the perspective of an unborn child. "A Baby's Prayer" would give Troccoli her first two Dove Award wins for Inspirational Song of the Year at the 29th GMA Dove Awards. Love & Mercy reached number 7 on the Top Christian Albums, number 6 on the Heatseekers Albums and number 170 on the Top 200 Albums charts in Billboard magazine, giving Troccoli her first crossover chart appearance on the latter.
