The Thouaret is a 52 km (32 mi) river in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It is a right tributary of the Thouet. [1]

Its source is in the commune of Chanteloup, and its course crosses the department of Deux-Sèvres, where it flows northeast through the towns of La Chapelle-Saint-Laurent, Chiché and Saint-Varent, finally flowing into the Thouet near Thouars.

The Thouet is a tributary of the Loire in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire regions of western France. The Thouet rises at Secondigny, close to the source of the Sèvre Nantaise, and joins the Loire just to the west of Saumur. It is 142.6 km (88.6 mi) long, and drains an area of 3,396 km2 (1,311 sq mi).

The Communauté de communes de Parthenay-Gâtine is the communauté de communes, an intercommunal structure, centred on the town of Parthenay. It is located in the Deux-Sèvres department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, western France. It was created in January 2014 by the merger of the former Communauté de communes de Parthenay with 3 other former communautés de communes. Its population was 39,131 in 2014, of which 10,928 in Parthenay proper. It provides a framework within which local tasks common to the member communes can be carried out together. Amongst its other responsibilities, the communauté de communes organises the Festival Ludique International de Parthenay, a major games festival held in Parthenay every July.

Dive (river) river in France

The Dive is a 73.7 km (45.8 mi) river in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire regions in western France. It is a right-bank tributary of the Thouet. Its source is in the commune of Maisonneuve, Vienne. It later bisects the department of Deux-Sèvres to reach Maine-et-Loire. It flows generally northwards and through the towns of Moncontour and Brézé, finally flowing into the Thouet in Saint-Just-sur-Dive. In common with most rivers in this region of France flows are quite widely controlled by creation of heads of water, through embankment and barrages, which prevents near loss of upper reaches in summer. For winter sluices are opened, which prevents flooding, which historically would affect a small proportion of the land as the river gradient is relatively high and the valley modest but noticeable along most banks.

The canton of Le Val de Thouet is an administrative division of the Deux-Sèvres department, western France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Airvault.
