Thuận Châu is a rural district of Sơn La province in the Northwest region of Vietnam. As of 2019, the district had a population of 172,763. [1] The district covers an area of 1535 km². The district capital lies at Thuận Châu. [2]

The Dry Laha (Phlao) and Kháng languages are spoken in Thuận Châu District.

La Gi (pronounced:/la-yi/) is a District-level town of Bình Thuận province, Vietnam. Under the Republic of Vietnam period, La Gi was the provincial capital of Bình Tuy province. After the Vietnam War, it became the capital of Hàm Tân District. It was established in 2005 with the split of La Gi away from Hàm Tân District.
