Prathivadi Bhayankara Sreenivas was a veteran playback singer from India. He was born in Gollaprolu village in East Godavri District of Andhra Pradesh. Guru Dutt portrayed the main antagonist. Bank Janardhan, Srinath, Shobharaj, Gurukiran and Biradar appeared in supporting roles. It is loosely based on the Tamil classic Baashha which later got an official Kannada remake in 2001 as Kotigobba.
