The Thüringer Energie Team was a German UCI Continental cycling team that existed from 2006 to 2013. [1]
Many famous cyclists such as Marcel Kittel, Tony Martin, John Degenkolb, Maximilian Schachmann, and Jasha Sütterlin rode for the team.
Marcel Kittel is a German racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Team Katusha–Alpecin. As a junior, he specialised in time trials, even winning a bronze medal in the World Championships for cyclists aged under 23. When he became a professional in 2011, he specialised in bunch sprints, and he has won stages in each of the three Grand Tours.
Tony Martin is a German professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Team Jumbo–Visma. Martin is known as a time trial specialist, and is a four-time world champion in the discipline, having won the title in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016. He also won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, finishing runner-up to Bradley Wiggins in the event.
John Degenkolb is a German professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Trek–Segafredo. His biggest wins to date are the 2015 Milan–San Remo and the 2015 Paris–Roubaix, two of cycling's five monuments. He is a winner of stages in all three Grand Tours, with ten stages and the points classification at the Vuelta a España, one stage of the Giro d'Italia, and one stage in the Tour de France.
Niki Terpstra is a Dutch racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Professional Continental team Direct Énergie. He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Mike Terpstra. He is the third Dutch cyclist to have won both of the cobbled Monument spring classics, Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders, after Jan Raas and Hennie Kuiper.
