Tianshan District (Chinese :天山区; pinyin :Tiānshān Qū; Uyghur : تەڭرىتاغ رايونى, ULY : Tengritagh Rayoni, official : Tengritag Rayoni, UYY : Təngritaƣ Rayoni ? , USY: Тәңритағ Райони) is one of 7 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wulumuqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Northwest China. It is a core urban district of Wulumuqi. It contains an area of 171 km2 (66 sq mi). According to the 2002 census, it has a population of 450,000.

Tianchi is an alpine lake in Xinjiang, Northwest China, situated at 43°53′9.7″N88°7′56.6″E. The name (天池) literally means Heavenly Lake and can refer to several lakes in mainland China and Taiwan. This Tianchi lies on the north side of the Bogda Shan range of the Tian Shan, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of Fukang and 45 kilometres (28 mi) east of Ürümqi. It is an alpine drift lake shaped in the Quaternary Glacier period.

Jinghe–Yining–Khorgos railway

The Jingyihuo railway, short for Jinghe–Yining–Khorgas railway, is the first electrified railway in operation in Xinjiang, China. The line is 286 km in length and connects Jinghe, Yining and Khorgos. The Jingyihuo railway branches from the Northern Xinjiang railway at Jinghe in the Junggar Basin, and heads south through the Tian Shan range into the Ili River Valley. Cities and towns along route include Jinghe, Nilka County, Yining County, Yining, Huocheng County, and Khorgos, on the border with Kazakhstan.
