Tiger is a 2007 Bengali vigilante action film directed by Swapan Saha. The film featured Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy in lead role. This movie released on 11 October 2007. [1] It is the remake of Tamil film Ramanaa starring Vijaykanth in lead role. [2]

Synopsis

The film deals with the journey of a professor along with his ex-students, against corruption. Professor Indrajeet Sen, a grief-stricken professor of Rammohan College Kolkata vows to end corruption among the government officials, after his wife and son are killed in a building collapse. He must accomplish his mission with the help of his ex-students, who are employed at various government offices.

Debashree Roy also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. She acted in more than a hundred films and won over forty awards, including a National Award, three BFJA Awards, five Kalakar Awards and an Anandalok Award. As a dancer, she is known for her stage adaptations of the various forms of Indian folk dances as well as her innovative dance forms imbued with elements from Indian classical, tribal and folk dance. She runs Natraj dance troupe. She is the founder of Debasree Roy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works for the cause of stray animals. Roy was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Raidighi constituency since 2011 till 2021.

Mrigayaa is a 1976 Indian historical drama film directed by Mrinal Sen and produced by K. Rajeshwara Rao. It is based on an Odia short story by Bhagbati Charan Panigrahi, called "Shikaar". Projapoti is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language family drama film directed by Avijit Sen, produced by Atanu Raychaudhuri, co-produced by Dev and distributed by SSR Cinemas. The film features Mahaguru Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar and Koushani Mukherjee in lead roles. The movie was theatrically released on 23rd December 2022 and had its digital premiere on the streaming platform ZEE5 on 14th April 2023. Made on a budget of 1.5 Crores, it was a master hit at the box-office. The film was a blockbuster also declared by Taran Adarsh.
