Tigerspring is an independent record label and music publisher based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company was founded in 2006 by Christian Møller and Søren Winding Lorenzen.


Since the beginning of 2006 they have been working with various artists and songwriters such as Choir of Young Believers, Fallulah, I Got You on Tape, Panamah, Fridolin Nordsø (The Mountains, The William Blakes etc.) and many others. Furthermore, they have contributed to various no. 1 singles and albums on charts around the world including America and Japan and collaborating with artists such as P. Diddy, Kid Cudi, Danity Kane, Girls Generation and many more.

Christian Møller and Søren Winding, who are both students of Music Management at the Royal Danish Music Conservatorium, founded Tigerspring in the summer of 2006. Christian, a former member of early 2000s Danish indie darlings Moon Gringo and Søren, a former DJ and employee of EMI Music Denmark both shared a love of quality music and launched Tigerspring, on the idea of creating a new kind of record label for the “post-crisis” music business. Tigerspring is an umbrella organization and the house of Tigerspring Records, Tigerspring Publishing, Heartbeats Publishing and Easy Tiger Records. [2] Each department has its own focus; Tigerspring Records works with more alternative artists while Easy Tiger is more centered around pop music. Tigerspring Publishing has a big focus on delivering music for TV shows, computer games, commercials and movies. Heartbeats Publishing is a joint venture with Fridolin Nordsø with a focus on writing great songs and hits for international artists.

Tigerspring Records have worked with several artists, who has won great acknowledgement from both curators and their audience. Among others Tigerspring Records’ roster consists of: [3]

Choir of Young Believers is a musical project of singer, songwriter and guitarist Jannis Noya Makrigannis. COYB is signed to Tigerspring Record with a licensing deal with Ghostly International. In 2009, Choir of Young Believers released the debut album ‘This Is For The White In Your Eyes, which received great reviews by both NPR [4] and The Guardian. [5] Choir of Young Believers has won several awards including a Danish Music Award as New Danish Artist of the Year (2009). [6] In the late winter and early spring 2014, Choir of Young Believers went on support tour on Depeche Mode’s ‘Delta Machine Tour’.

Michael Møller won the prize as innovator of the year in 2011 for his online release of ‘A Month of Unrequited Love’, which consists of 31 songs that was uploaded one by one – one for each day of May – to the site www.amonthofunrequitedlove.com. Later on the songs were released on a double disc and as a triple vinyl. Fans funded the physical release, and the project won acknowledgement as the first crowd funded release in Denmark. [7]

I Got You On Tape has released two albums ‘Spinning For The Cause’, and ‘Church Of The Real’, on Tigerspring Records and has grown to become one of the biggest indie acts on the Danish music scene. In 2010 the group won the P3 Award and the accompanying 100,000 DKK at the Danish radio station's annual award show. [8]

Heartbeats Publishing

Heartbeats Publishing is a joint venture between Tigerspring and the songwriter Fridolin Nordsø. It's a boutique publishing company with a strong international focus. It includes great songwriters and producers such as Fridolin Nordsø, Shaka Loveless, Anders Rhedin, Martin Hedegaard and Christian Vinten. Heartbeats Publishing has contributed to albums by multi award-winning and platinum selling artists in both US, Japan and South Korea.

In 2008 Tigerspring made the first big cut with P. Diddy aka Puff Daddy's label Badboy Records, when Fridolin Nordsø sold a song to the girl group Danity Kane. [9] The song "Is Anybody Listening" is featured on the girl group's debut and gold certificated album Welcome To The Dollhouse , which went #1 on the Official Billboard Chart.

Kid Cudi's album Man on the Moon pt II , which debuted at No 1 on the Official Billboard Chart features Fridolin and Heartbeats writer Anders Rhedin on the song "Mojo so Dope", which samples the song "Claustrophobia" by Choir of Young Believers.

Heartbeats Publishing does not only make hits in the States and several of their songwriters have written big international hits, such as “Genie” and also ‘Galaxy Supernova’ for the South Korean girl group, Girls’ Generation. [10] 'Galaxy Supernova’ peaked at no. 1 on the Korean Oricon chart and as #2 on the Japanese chart, [11] while ’Genie’ peaked as #1 on the Japanese Billboard Chart, #1 on the Korean Gaon Singles Chart and #2 on the Korean Oricon chart. Tigerspring Publishing

Tigerspring also runs the successful publishing company Tigerspring Publishing which focuses on artists development, co-writes and sync placements in commercials, computer games, TV shows and movies.

The company has delivered music for commercials for brands like Old Navy, [13] Victoria's Secret [14] and Chevrolet. [15] TV shows including The Bridge, [16] Melrose Place, [17] 90210, [18] and Revenge [19] has also benefitted from the Scandinavian sound of Tigerspring's artists.

Outlandish band

Outlandish was a hip-hop music group based in Denmark. Formed in 1997, it consisted of Isam Bachiri, Waqas Ali Qadri, and Lenny Martinez. All three members are religious, with Isam and Waqas being Muslims and Lenny being Catholic. The group disbanded in 2017 as each member wanted to pursue personal projects. In 2019 band members Waqas and Lenny brought back the band as a duo while Isam continued to pursue a solo career. Dúné [Dew-nay] were a Danish electronic rock band from Skive, Denmark. At their split up in 2018 the band consisted of Mattias Kolstrup, Piotrek Wasilewski & Ole Bjórn. Their style was comparable to British and American electronic rock and resembles elements of 1980s pop music and 1970s post-punk blend with a distinct and modern Scandinavian touch. The band was best known for their entertaining and energetic live performances.

Engelina Andrina Larsen is a Danish singer and songwriter who is best known for writing and providing the vocals for DJ Encore's "I See Right Through to You", which was a number-one hit in her native Denmark.

The William Blakes

The William Blakes is a Danish pop rock band who released their first record in 2008. The album was called 'Wayne Coyne' in an homage to the lead singer of The Flaming Lips. The band consists of drummer Fridolin Nordsø, guitarist Frederik Nordsø, lead singer, guitarist and song writer Kristian Leth and keyboard player / trumpet player Bo Rande.

Choir of Young Believers

Choir of Young Believers is the musical project of singer, writer and guitarist Jannis Noya Makrigiannis from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band, which consists of Makrigiannis along with a rotating cast of supporting players, has had multiple No 1 hits in their home country of Denmark and was named the "Best New Act" at the 2009 Danish Music Awards. COYB’s music combines folk melodies, orchestral instrumentation, and dark lyrics.

Christina Schilling is a Danish songwriter, singer and musician. She has written songs for artists in Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania and South Africa, and is part of the songwriting team Pixieland Productions. Schilling is a member, songwriter and vocalist of the jazz pop project Technicoloured Roses.

Fallulah is a Danish singer-songwriter and musician. Her given name is Maria Apetri. Following a short dancing career, she entered the music industry and released her debut album in 2010 which peaked at number three in Denmark and went on to be certified platinum.

The Malpractice is the alias of Danish songwriter Johannes Gammelby of I Am Bones and Beta Satan. His debutalbum "Tectonics" was released in 2010 on Crunchy Frog Records; gathering members from Tiger Tunes, Marybell Katastrophy and Beta Satan in the studio and on tour.

NorthSide Festival (Denmark)

NorthSide Festival, or simply NorthSide, is a three-day music festival held every year in June in Aarhus, Denmark. It has three stages with rotating artists and several sideshow events and happenings. The first festival commenced in 2010 and since 2011, the festival has been held at Ådalen in Åbyhøj. The 2017 festival was attended by 40,000 people each day.
