Timothy Wayne Maypray II [1] (May 13, 1988 – January 15, 2019) was an American professional gridiron football wide receiver. He most recently played for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League. Prior to playing for Ottawa, he was with the Montreal Alouettes, also of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Maypray returned kicks for the Alouettes during the 2010 season. During his CFL debut against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Maypray returned a missed field goal 125 yards for a touchdown. [2]

Playing career

Amateur

Maypray played his high school football at Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, Virginia. He was a two-time letterman in football and basketball. [3]

Maypray played college football at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) where he played several different positions (wide receiver, running back and quarterback) and returned kicks. [2] During his four-year career at VMI, Maypray scored 39 touchdowns. [2] Maypray was named the 2006 Big South Freshman of the Year. [3] He was named First Team All Big South at kick returner, and Second Team All Big South at wide receiver after his sophomore season. [3] Heading into the 2009 season, Maypray received several pre-season honours including being named to the Big South Football Conference Pre-Season All Conference Team at both quarterback and as a punt returner. [4] He was also voted the 2009 Big South Pre-Season Offensive Player of the Year. [4]

Professional

Maypray made his professional debut with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) during the 2010 season. During his first game, Maypray returned a missed field goal by Luca Congi of the Saskatchewan Roughriders 125 yards for a touchdown, setting a team record. [2] During the Alouettes next meeting against the Roughriders, Maypray returned another missed field goal 118 yards for a touchdown. [5] After his second missed field goal return for a touchdown, Maypray was named the CFL's Special Teams Player of the Week. [6]

Off Season

During the off season of the CFL, Maypray worked at his old high school, Randolph-Macon Academy.

Personal life

While at VMI, Maypray also played on the basketball team. [3] He majored in psychology. [3]

Maypray died on January 15, 2019. [7]

Simon won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award in 2006 while also winning three Grey Cup championships; with the BC Lions in 2006 and 2011 and with Saskatchewan in 2013. As of the 2013 CFL season, Simon is the all-time career leader in CFL receiving yards with 16,352 yards, second in pass receptions with 1,029 and third in touchdown receptions with 103.

Jason Clermont is a former professional Canadian football slotback who retired after ten seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Clermont started his professional career with the BC Lions after being selected in the 2002 CFL Draft. He played amateur football in his hometown of Regina, starting with the Regina Rams junior football club, and continuing with the team after they became affiliated with the University of Regina. While playing university football, Clermont was named an All-Star and All-Canadian, as well as the Most Valuable Player in the Canada West Conference and represented Western Canada as one of only 2 Canadian players in the East West Shrine Bowl in San Francisco. As a professional, Clermont's honours have included being named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2002, Most Outstanding Canadian in 2004 and 2007, as well as the Most Valuable Canadian at the 2004 Grey Cup. Clermont captured a Grey Cup championship with the Lions in 2006. He joined his hometown Roughriders at the start of the 2009 season after being released by the Lions and is now a member of the Regina Sports Hall of Fame as well as the University of Regina Hall of Fame and BC Lions Wall of Fame.

Drew Tate is an American gridiron football coach and former player. He is the receivers coach for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football as a quarterback at the University of Iowa and was signed by the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2007. Tate has played professionally for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Calgary Stampeders and Ottawa Redblacks in the CFL. He was a defensive analyst at Coastal Carolina University in 2018, before coming out of retirement to rejoin the Roughriders. On December 17, 2018, Tate retired from playing and was named quarterbacks coach for the BC Lions the following day. Adarius Bowman is a former American professional gridiron football wide receiver in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Bowman has also been a member Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, and Edmonton Eskimos/Elks. He played college football at Oklahoma State. Bowman was a Grey Cup Champion and three time CFL All-Star having accumulated 652 receptions for 9,491 yards and 49 touchdowns in 141 career games.

Jacques Chapdelaine is a Canadian football coach and former professional slotback in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He most recently served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He has also served as the offensive coordinator for four other CFL teams, the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes (2016-17), and the head coach for two Canadian university football teams. He has won three Grey Cup championships as an assistant coach and one Vanier Cup as the head coach of the Laval Rouge et Or. Timothy Allynn Kearse is a former American football wide receiver and coach. Originally from York, Pennsylvania, Kearse played college football at San Jose State, where he led all of NCAA Division I-A in receptions in 1981. He was selected in the 11th round of the 1983 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. Kearse began his pro football career in the CFL with the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders before making his NFL debut in 1987 with the Indianapolis Colts and concluding his pro football career in 1988 with the Roughriders. Following his playing career, Kearse coached Canadian football at the high school, semi-pro, and CFL levels in various stints from 1991 to 2011.

Jake Paul Harty is a professional Canadian football wide receiver for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a Grey Cup champion after winning with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016 and he is a Vanier Cup champion as a coach after the Calgary Dinos won the 55th Vanier Cup in 2019.
