Tim Spencer (born February 2, 1986) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently an unrestricted free agent who last played with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in a rink, in which two teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into their opponent's net to score points. The sport is known to be fast-paced and physical, with teams usually consisting of six players each: one goaltender, and five players who skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and score a goal against the opposing team.
The Hershey Bears are an American professional ice hockey team based in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The current Bears club has played in the American Hockey League since the 1938–39 season making it the longest continuously operating member club of the league still playing in its original city.
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. Spencer started the 2011–12 season playing for the Chicago Express in the ECHL. [1]

On July 15, 2013, the Sheffield Steelers of Britain's Elite Ice Hockey League announced they had signed Spencer for the 2013–14 season. [2] In his solitary season with the Steelers, Spencer continued his heavy hitting game and contributed offensively with 10 goals and 34 points in 61 games.
Sheffield Steelers is a professional ice hockey team located in Sheffield, England. It was formed in 1991 and plays its home games at the FlyDSA Arena. It is currently a member of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The club's main (title) sponsor is Sheffield Window Centre.
The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) is an ice hockey league in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Superleague, it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom.
On August 14, 2014, Spencer opted to return to the AHL, signing a one-year contract with the Hershey Bears. [3]
