The Timiș or Timișul Sec is a right tributary of the river Ghimbășel in Romania. [1] [2] Its source is in the Piatra Mare Mountains, northeast of Predeal. It discharges into the Ghimbășel in Sânpetru. It flows through the eastern part of the city Brașov. Its length is 35 km (22 mi) and its basin size is 105 km2 (41 sq mi). [2] Part of its water is diverted towards the Timiș Canal.

The Mureș or Maros is a 789-kilometre-long (490 mi) river in Eastern Europe. Its drainage basin covers an area of 30,332 km2 (11,711 sq mi). It originates in the Hășmașu Mare Range in the Eastern Carpathian Mountains, Romania, rising close to the headwaters of the river Olt, and joins the Tisza at Szeged in southeastern Hungary. In Romania, its length is 761 km (473 mi) and its basin size is 27,890 km2 (10,770 sq mi).
The Olt is a river in Romania. It is 615 km (382 mi) long, and its basin area is 24,050 km2 (9,290 sq mi). It is the longest river flowing exclusively through Romania. Its average discharge at the mouth is 174 m3/s (6,100 cu ft/s). Its source is in the Hășmaș Mountains of the eastern Carpathian Mountains, near Bălan, rising close to the headwaters of the river Mureș. It flows through the Romanian counties Harghita, Covasna, Brașov, Sibiu, Vâlcea, and Olt. The river was known as Alutus or Aluta in Roman antiquity. Olt County and the historical province of Oltenia are named after the river.
The Prahova is a river of Southern Romania, which rises from the Bucegi Mountains, in the Southern Carpathians. It is a left tributary of the Ialomița. It flows into the Ialomița in Dridu Snagov. The upper reach of the river, upstream of the confluence with the river Azuga is sometimes called the Prahovița.

The Durbav or Sânpetru is a right tributary of the river Ghimbășel in Romania. Its source is in the Piatra Mare Mountains. It discharges into the Ghimbășel in Sânpetru. Its length is 21 km (13 mi) and its basin size is 45 km2 (17 sq mi).
The Ghimbășel is a left tributary of the river Bârsa in Romania. Its source is in the northern part of the Bucegi Mountains. Originally it discharged directly into the Olt, but much of its flow has been diverted into the Bârsa, another tributary of the Olt, near Colonia Bod. Its length is 67 km (42 mi) and its basin size is 533 km2 (206 sq mi). The former lower course of the Ghimbășel, downstream of this diversion, still exists and is used for the discharge of local inflows. It flows into the Olt north of Bod. Its length is 6 km (3.7 mi) and its basin size is 8 km2 (3.1 sq mi).
The Canalul Timiș is a canal linking the rivers Timiș and Ghimbășel in Brașov County, central Romania. It is 14 km (8.7 mi) long, and was first documented in the year 1500. The canal starts at Dâmbul Morii near Timișu de Jos, running parallel to the river Timiș until Dârste, where it turns to the northwest. It passes north of the historic centre of Brașov, and discharges into the Ghimbășel in Stupini, a northern neighbourhood of Brașov. The canal intercepts the small rivers flowing towards the city from the Postăvarul Massif and diverts them into the Ghimbășel, on many reaches using the river beds of previous rivers. In the city the canal is covered.
The Pogăniș or Pogănici is a left tributary of the river Timiș in Romania. It discharges into the Timiș in Uliuc. It flows through the villages Ohabița, Delinești, Brebu, Zorlențu Mare, Dezești, Remetea-Pogănici, Duleu, Valeapai, Vermeș, Cadăr, Blajova, Otvești, Icloda and Uliuc.
The Bistra is a river in south-western Romania, in the Banat. It is a right tributary of the river Timiș. Its valley delimits the Țarcu Mountains to the south from the Poiana Ruscă mountains to the north. Its name is derived from a Slavic word meaning "fast-flowing".
The Bega Luncanilor is the left headwater of the river Bega in Romania. It is also considered the upper course of the Bega. At its confluence with the Bega Poienilor in Curtea, the Bega is formed. Its length is 28 km (17 mi) and its basin size is 123 km2 (47 sq mi).
The Valea Mare is a left tributary of the river Timiș in Romania. It flows into the Timiș near Prisian. Its length is 15 km (9.3 mi) and its basin size is 50 km2 (19 sq mi).

The Bârsa is a left tributary of the river Olt in Romania. It discharges into the Olt near Feldioara. Its source is in the Făgăraș Mountains. As several tributaries also have the name Bârsa, in order to differentiate them, the main course of the river is frequently referred to as Bârsa Mare. The river Ghimbășel, formerly a direct tributary of the Olt, was redirected towards the Bârsa. Its length is 73 km (45 mi) and its basin size is 937 km2 (362 sq mi).
The Iercici is a left tributary of the river Apa Mare in Romania. It discharges into the Apa Mare near Becicherecu Mic. Its length is 31 km (19 mi) and its basin size is 108 km2 (42 sq mi).
