Martin Müürsepp is an Estonian professional basketball coach and former player, who is the head coach of BC Rakvere Tarvas of the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League. Widely regarded as one of Estonia's greatest basketball players of all time, he is the only Estonian to have played in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Valmo Kriisa is an Estonian former professional basketball player. He played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. Kriisa started his senior club career with "KK Tartu" team in 1990 and after 96–97 season he moved to "Nybit". He spent the 2000–01 season in Sweden with Södertälje BBK. Then Kriisa returned to Estonia, signed for two seasons with "BC Kalev" and won the Estonian Championship titles in 2002 and 2003. On seasons 2003–2006 he played for the Dutch Eredivisie team Hanzevast Capitals. During this period he won the Dutch Championship in 2004. After three seasons in The Netherlands, Kriisa came back to Estonia and joined BC Kalev/Cramo. He spent three seasons with Kalev winning one Estonian Championship. In 2007 he was named the Estonian Basketball Player of the Year. Kriisa spent the 2009-10 season with BC Rakvere Tarvas helping the team to the Estonian league finals for the first time. Though Tarvas lost to Tartu Ülikool/Rock, Kriisa was named the KML Most Valuable Player. In the 2010-11 season Kriisa played for TTÜ/Kalev. Since 1995, Kriisa is a member of the Estonia national basketball team and was also a member of the Estonian EuroBasket 2001 squad. He is the father of Arizona Wildcats men's basketball player Kerr Kriisa.
Vallo Allingu is a retired Estonian professional basketballer who last played for Tartu Ülikool/Rock at the center position. Allingu started his senior club career with Korvpalli Meistriliiga teams like "Puuviljaparadiis" and KK Rakvere. In 2002 he joined with Tartu Ülikool/Rock and won the Estonian Championship titles in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010. Vallo Allingu was a member of the Estonia national basketball team. He made his national team debut in 2001 against Latvia national basketball team.

The play-offs began on 26 April 2022 and ended on 26 May. Pärnu Sadam won their first ever title.

The regular season began on 1 October 2021 and finished on 24 April 2022. The play-offs started on 26 April and finished on 26 May with Pärnu Sadam winning their first KML title.
The 2022–23 Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, known as the Paf Latvian–Estonian Basketball League for sponsorship reasons, is the fifth season of the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, the combined top-tier basketball league in Latvia and Estonia. This season the league was also joined by Ukrainian team BC Prometey. BC Prometey eventually won the league.
The 2020–21 Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) season, also known as PAF Korvpalli Meistriliiga for sponsorship reasons, was the 95th season of the top-tier basketball league in Estonia.
