Timo Heikki Koponen (s. 1942) Is a Finnish diplomat, a master of political science . He has been Minister Counselor in Copenhagen 1981-1985, Head of Office at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs 1985-1989, Ambassador of Finland in Jakarta 1989-1992 and Bucharest 1992– [1] [2] 1996. [3] He has also been an ambassador in Reykjavik 2000–2004. [4]

After returning home he was Counselor of Foreign Affairs at the Political Department of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs 2001-2002, Under-Secretary of State 2002-2003, Deputy Secretary of State for the Summer of 2003 and Secretary of State from the beginning of September 2003. Kari Juhani Karanko is a Finnish diplomat. He is B.Sc. by education. He has been Finnish Ambassador to Dar es Salaam from 1988 to 1993 and then the Development Counselor of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He was Finnish ambassador to Windhoek (Namibia) from 1998 to 2000. From there, Karanko had to return to Finland because he had criticized the Namibian government. After that, he was the head of the Department for International Environmental Policy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. From 2006 to 2007, Karanko was Finnish Ambassador to Kathmandu.
