Timo Teräsvirta (born January 21, 1941) is a Finnish economist. [1] He made notable contributions in time series analysis, working with Clive Granger among others. [2]

Teräsvirta earned his Ph.D. from the University of Helsinki in 1970, [3] under the supervision of Leo Törnqvist. [4]

The men's horizontal bar event was part of the gymnastics programme at the 1932 Summer Olympics. It was contested for the fifth time after 1896, 1904, 1924, and 1928. The competition was held on Thursday, August 11, 1932. Twelve gymnasts from six nations competed. Each nation was limited to three gymnasts. The event was won by Dallas Bixler of the United States, the nation's first victory in the men's horizontal bar since 1904 and second overall. Heikki Savolainen and Einari Teräsvirta of Finland tied for second; the two agreed that Savolainen would take silver and Teräsvirta bronze. They were the first medals for Finland in the horizontal bar.

Leo Waldemar Törnqvist was one of the first professors of statistics in Finland, and the first to achieve international recognition. He taught at the University of Helsinki from 1943 to 1974, and developed techniques that are used in official price and productivity statistics.

The Rigmor and Carl Holst-Knudsen Award for Scientific Research is one of Denmark's oldest and most prestigious science prizes. It was established in 1956, on the birthday of Carl Holst-Knudsen, who was at that time the Chairman of the Board at Aarhus University. Originally worth 10 thousand Danish krones (DKK), it has grown to 100 thousand DKK in monetary value, and is awarded on 28 May annually. It is given without application "as a mark of respect", to a researcher who has produced one or more significant results which show promise in future research.

Vester Allé 12 is a listed building in Aarhus, Denmark. The building was completed in 1902 and was listed by the Danish Heritage Agency in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places on 5 April 1988. The building is situated on the west side of Vester Allé close by Vester Allé Barracks and ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. He won the gold medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys singles event, and at the same year was awarded the European Young Player of the Year. Together with the national team, he won the European Men's Team Championships in 2016 and 2018; also European Mixed Team Championships in 2017, 2019 and 2021. Antonsen was the champion at the 2019 Minsk European Games, 2021 European Championships, the silver medalist at the 2017 European Championships, and the 2019 World Championships, and the bronze medalist at the 2021 World Championships.
