Tin Mine Mountain

Tin Mine Mountain (also called Tin Mountain) is a summit in Madison County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It has an elevation of 1,115 feet (340 m). [1]

Tin Mine Mountain rises about 500 feet above the St. Francis River which flows past the west end of the mountain. The USGS quadrangle map shows the mountain as having two peaks (a western peak at 1121 ft. and an eastern peak at 1141 ft.). Missouri Route E passes by the south side of the mountain. Fredericktown is about seven miles to the east-northeast. [2]

Tin Mine Mountain was named for a short-lived but expensive attempt at tin mining, which ended when no tin was discovered. [3]

Brown Mountain is a summit in western St. Francois County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The peak has an elevation of 1,650 feet (500 m). The community of Iron Mountain Lake lies just west of the mountain. The mountain is named after Mr. Brown, a businessperson in the local charcoal producing industry.

Oak Mountain is a summit in the southwestern corner of St. Francois County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The summit has an elevation of 1,631 feet (497 m). The peak is on a north-south trending ridge that extends south into Iron County and the city of Pilot Knob lies just southwest of the mountain. The community of Middlebrook is to the northwest and Iron Mountain Lake is to the north. The source area of Knob Creek is on the west flank of the mountain.

Pine Mountain is a summit in St. Francois County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The summit has an elevation of 1,499 feet (457 m). The mountain is about 3.5 miles south of Bismarck along Missouri Route N. The peak rises just south of the confluence of Indian Creek with the St. Francis River.

Rock Creek is a southwest flowing stream in Madison and St. Francois counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Little Saint Francis River.

Stono Mountain is a summit in St. Francois County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The mountain rises to an elevation of 1,644 feet (501 m). Mineral City lies along the headwaters of Doe Run Creek just to the east on Missouri Route W and Little Stono Mountain lies to the north.

Tetley Hill is a summit in St. Francois County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It has an elevation of 984 feet (300 m). The hill is at the southeast end of a ridge between the St. Francis River to the east and Doe Run Creek to the west. Route H passes the north and east side of the hill and route AA crosses the ridge northwest of the peak. Farmington is about four miles to the north and Doe Run is about four miles to the northwest.

Pikes Peak is a summit in Ste. Genevieve County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The peak has an elevation of 722 feet (220 m).

Aley Mountain is a summit in northwest Wayne County, Missouri. The mountain forms an arc shaped mountain mass with three distinct peaks. The western peak has an elevation of 1,184 feet (361 m) while the two peaks to the northeast are each above 1200 feet.

Wachita Mountain is a summit in southern St. Francois County in the U.S. state of Missouri. The summit has an elevation of 1,027 feet (313 m). The broad hill lies about four miles southeast of Doe Run and the St. Francis River flows past the southeast side of the mountain. Klondike Hill lies adjacent to the northeast. Missouri Route AA traverses across the hill from northeast to southwest. The extreme south end of the mountain extends into northern Madison County.
