Catharina "Tini" Wilhelmina Wagner (17 December 1919, Amsterdam – 2 June 2004, Soest) was a freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands, who represented her native country at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany.
In 1936 she won the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, alongside Willy den Ouden, Rie Mastenbroek and Jopie Selbach. In the 100 m freestyle competition she finished fifth and in the 400 m freestyle event she finished seventh.

Catharina Bernadetta Jacoba ("Tineke") Lagerberg is a retired Dutch swimmer who won the bronze medal in the 400 m freestyle at the 1960 Summer Olympics in a time of 4:56.9. She was also part of the Dutch team that broke the 4×100 m medley Olympic record in the preliminaries; however, they finished fourth in the final. Lagerberg broke the world record in the women's 200 m butterfly on 13 September 1958 in Naarden, Netherlands. She was also part of the Dutch relay team that set a new world record in the 4×100 m medley in the same year.

Johanna "Jopie" Katarina Selbach was a freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands. She won gold medals at the 1934 European Aquatics Championships and 1936 Summer Olympics in the women's 4 × 100 m freestyle relay.
Willemijntje den Ouden was a competitive swimmer from the Netherlands, who held the 100-meter freestyle world record for nearly 23 years, from 1933 to 1956.
Enith Sijtje Maria Brigitha is a former leading competitive swimmer in the 1970s. She twice represented the Netherlands at the Summer Olympics, starting in 1972. She won two bronze medals at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in the women's 100 m and 200 m freestyle. Brigitha twice was named 'Dutch Sportswoman of the Year', in 1973 and 1974. She was the first black athlete to win a swimming medal in the Olympics.
Sebastiaan Verschuren is a Dutch former competitive swimmer who specialized in short- and middle-distance freestyle events. At the 2016 European Aquatics Championships he won the gold medal in the 200 meter freestyle. He participated in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, finishing 5th in the 100 meter freestyle in 2012.
Maria "Rie" Vierdag was a Dutch freestyle swimmer who competed at the 1924, 1928 and 1932 Summer Olympics. She won a silver medal in the 4×100 m relay in 1932, setting a European record, and finished sixth in 1924. She failed to reach the 100 m finals at all Games.
Mary Olive McKean, also known by her married name Olive Mucha, was an American competition swimmer and swimming coach. McKean represented the United States at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. She won a bronze medal as a member of the third-place U.S. team in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. Individually, she finished sixth in the 100-meter freestyle. McKean won the AAU 100 m freestyle titles in 1934 and 1935.
Ranomi Kromowidjojo is a retired Dutch swimmer of mixed Dutch-Javanese Surinamese origin who mainly specialises in sprint freestyle events. She is a triple Olympic champion, winning the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay at the 2008 Olympics, and in the 50 m freestyle and 100 m freestyle at the 2012 Olympics. Kromowidjojo holds the world record in the 50 meter freestyle short course, and as part of the Dutch team she holds the world record in the 4×50 m freestyle relay. She formerly held world records in the 4 × 100 m and 4 × 200 m freestyle relays. She has won a total of 39 medals in FINA World Championship events.

The country's participation at London marked its thirteenth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1960 Summer Olympics. Anna Petronella "Ans or Annie" Timmermans was a Dutch swimmer who won a gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay at the 1934 European Championships. Two years later she competed in the 400 m freestyle at the 1936 Olympics, but failed to reach the final.

Maud van der Meer is a former Dutch competitive swimmer. She won the gold medal at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships in the 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay and the silver medal at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in the 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay.
