Tinian Jr./Sr. High School (TJSHS) is a secondary school in San Jose Village on the island of Tinian in the Northern Mariana Islands.
In 1990 it became a high school. The name changed since the middle school grades (7 and 8) moved to the school in 1998. [1]
Circa 2006 90% of the students were of Chamorro background, with the remainder being of Pacific Island and Korean backgrounds. [2]

The Meters are an American funk band formed in 1965 in New Orleans by Zigaboo Modeliste (drums), George Porter Jr. (bass), Leo Nocentelli (guitar) and Art Neville (keyboards). The Mariana and Palau Islands campaign, also known as Operation Forager, was an offensive launched by United States forces against Imperial Japanese forces in the Mariana Islands and Palau in the Pacific Ocean between June and November 1944 during the Pacific War. Songsong is the second largest village on the island of Rota, Northern Mariana Islands, United States. As of 2000, its population is 593. Songsong is located along the southern coast, in a narrow peninsula. The village's most recognizable landmark is Mt. Taipingot, more commonly known as Wedding Cake Mountain because of its resemblance to a layered wedding cake. The word songsong is a Chamorro word meaning "village, people." Jude Untalan Hofschneider is a Northern Marianan politician and member of the Northern Mariana Islands from the 2nd district. He has served as that body's President on two occasions and as the 9th Lieutenant Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from February 20, 2013 to January 12, 2015. He was automatically elevated to this position on February 20, 2013, when the former lieutenant governor, Eloy S. Inos, assumed the governorship.

Lewis Cheatham Hudson was a highly decorated officer of the United States Marine Corps with the rank of brigadier general. Hudson received the Navy Cross, the United States military's second-highest decoration awarded for valor in combat, while leading 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines during Battle of Iwo Jima in February 1945. He later commanded Troop Training Unit, Atlantic Fleet or 3rd Marine Division and retired in 1961.
Don Allen Farrell is an educator, local historian and author based on the island of Tinian in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). He is known for his research and publications on the history of the Marianas Islands with an emphasis on World War II.
Tinian Naval Base and Naval Air Facility Tinian was a major United States Navy sea and airbase base on Tinian Island, part of the Northern Mariana Islands on the east side of the Philippine Sea in the Pacific Ocean. The Base was built during World War II to support the many bombers and aircraft fighting and patrolling in the South West Pacific theatre of war as part of the Pacific War. A number of naval facilities were built on the entire island of 101.22 km. The main port was built at the city and port of San Jose, also called Tinian Harbor. All construction was done by the Navy's Seabees Sixth Construction Brigade with minor help from the 64th Army Engineers, including the main two airports: West Field and North Field. United States Army Air Forces operated long-range bombers out of the air base built and maintained by the Seabees.
Leila Haveia Fleming Clark Staffler is an American politician and educator who served as a member of the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives for the 5th district. Staffler is the Acting Secretary of Labor under Governor Arnold Palacios, pending confirmation by the Northern Mariana Islands Senate.
