The Tintenbar-East Ballina Cricket Club is a club based in the Ballina district.

With the establishment of the LJ Hooker League in 1994/95 the first-grade side now competes at a regional level, with the lower grades still playing in Ballina competition. [1] The first-grade side also plays annually against the Ballina Bears for the "David Dawson Shield"—named in honour of David Dawson, a regular and popular 1st grade player, who died in July 1994. The Bar have won the LJ Hooker League on 3 occasions: 2000/01, 2002/03 and 2005/06. [6]

The following club players have been "LJ Hooker League Player of the Year": Brett Crawford (1997/98, 2003/04, 2005/06 and 2007/08) Phil Alley (2002/03) and Abe Crawford (2015/16). [7]

The name of the organization was changed in late 2005 from Soccer Far North Coast in line with the national governing body which changed from Soccer Australia to Football Federation Australia.

Group 1 Rugby League was a rugby league competition held in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia, run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. The group, however, still runs a junior rugby league competition. When the Group 18-Gold Coast competition dissolved in 2005, the New South Wales sides joined together with Group 1 to form a divisional league, Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League (NRRRL). Group 18 also still holds its own individual junior rugby league competition.

The Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League (NRRRL) is a rugby league competition run in the far north of New South Wales, Australia. It is run under the auspices of the Country Rugby League. The league formed in 2005 as an extended Group 1 Rugby League competition, featuring teams from Group 18 Rugby League. Prior to this, teams from Group 18 played in a competition with teams from the Gold Coast region of Queensland; these clubs have since gone on to form the Gold Coast Rugby League competition. Both Group 1 and Group 18 continue to run junior competitions from Under 5s to Under 16s.

Country Cricket New South Wales is responsible for the development of cricket in regional New South Wales. It is under control of the governing body Cricket NSW.

Paul Stringer is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a prop in the 1990s and 2000s. He played his junior footy for the Berkeley Vale Panthers. He also went on to coach the Wyong Roos. Stringer later returned to Berkeley Vale Panthers as a senior.

They are also known as the Bumble Bees and play in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition. Ballina Seahorses Rugby Union Club is a rugby union club based in Ballina, New South Wales formed in late 1975, entering the local competition in 1976. They conduct teams for both junior and senior competitions, with the senior teams competing in the Far North Coast Rugby Union. The first-grade side also plays annually against the Wollongbar club for the "Dane Cupitt Shield" — named in honour of Dane Cupitt, a player for both clubs, who died in 2002.

Michael Ross is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. He played for Balmain in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition.
