Yörgüç Tipu Sharif, better known as Tipu Sharif (Urdu : ٹیپو شریف), is a Pakistan-based actor and singer-songwriter of Pakistani and Turkish descent. [1] His mother is from Izmir, while his father is from Karachi, Pakistan.



Tipu Sharif has been active in the Pakistani television industry since 2005, and in the span of 11 years he has acted in close to 100 drama serials, in which he has portrayed diverse characters. He made his film debut in 2015 with the biographical film Manto . [2] He was also in a supporting role in the film Saawan (2016), which was directed by Farhan Alam. [3]

Beyond acting, Tipu's debut album Ilham released in summer of 2016. Before its release, Tipu released a music video for the single Lamhay from the album, to positive reviews. [4] [5]

Mohammed Ehteshamuddin is a Pakistani TV director, producer, writer and actor. Ehtesham's short films Shahrukh Khan Ki Maut (2005) and Mein Sawa Paanch Bujay Aai Thi (2006) featured at the 2005 and 2006 Kara Film Festival. <i>Manto</i> (2015 film) 2015 Pakistani biographical drama film

Manto is a 2015 Pakistani biographical drama film based on the life of Pakistani short-story writer Sadat Hassan Manto, starring Sarmad Khoosat in the title role. It was directed by Khoosat himself, produced by Babar Javed, and written by Shahid Nadeem, whose screenplay was adapted from Manto's short stories, particularly "Thanda Gosht", "Madari", "License", "Hatak" and "Peshawar Se Lahore". It also depicts his relationship with singer-actress Noor Jehan. The film was released on 11 September 2015, sixty years after Manto's death.

<i>Saawan</i> 2017 Pakistani film

Saawan is a 2017 Pakistani suspense drama film directed by Farhan Alam and produced and written by Mashood Qadri under the production banner of Kalakar Films. The film is based on a true story of a disabled child, who faced difficulties in the deserts of Pakistan. The film stars Saleem Mairaj, Syed Karam Abbas, Arif Bahalim, Najiba Faiz and Imran Aslam in the lead roles. The other cast includes Tipu Sharif, Hafeez Ali, Sehrish Qadri, Sohail Malik, Shahid Niazmi, Muhammad Abbas, Danial Yunus, Mehek Zulfiqar and Syed Muhammad Ali. A special appearance is made by Lt. Gen. S. A. A. Najmi (R). It was selected as the Pakistani entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.

Sahira Kazmi is a retired Pakistani actress, producer and director. She is best known for her role in the country's first-ever colour series Parchaiyan (1976) and for producing the cult-classic blockbuster series Dhoop Kinare (1987) and the acclaimed drama Nijaat (1993).
