Tirana or Tiranë is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its location at the Plain of Tirana and the close proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is particularly influenced by a Mediterranean seasonal climate. It is among the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe, with 2,544 hours of sun per year.
Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, often referred to as the Rinas International Airport, is the main international airport of the Republic of Albania. It serves the city of Tirana, its metropolitan area, and surrounding region in the county of Tirana. The airport is named in honour of the Albanian Roman Catholic nun and missionary, Mother Teresa. It is located 6 nautical miles northwest of Tirana, in the municipality of Krujë, Durrës County. It offers international connections primarily within Europe, whereas the most frequent routes are to Milan, Rome, London and Istanbul.
Futboll Klub Dinamo Tirana is an Albanian football club based in the capital city Tirana. They currently compete in the Kategoria e Parë and they play their home games primarily at the Selman Stërmasi Stadium, as well as other grounds in the city. Founded in 1950 during the communist regime, the club was historically affiliated to the Interior Ministry and having won 18 National Championships, it is considered to be the second most decorated club after local rivals KF Tirana.
