Western Railway zone

The Nellai Express - a super-fast train connecting Tirunelveli and Chennai Egmore - runs packed almost throughout the year. Any train passing through the station halts at one of the five platforms, regardless of destination.

The inaugural special service of Gandhidham - Tirunelveli Humsafar Express (09424) was flagged off by Minister of States of Railways Rajen Gohain on 5 July 2018. [5] The regular service started from 16 July 2018.


Rajen Gohain in Nagaon, Assam is an Indian politician who served Member of parliament, Lok Sabha. He has represented the Nowgong constituency in Assam since 1999 to 2019 and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The 19423 Tirunelveli - Gandhidham Humsafar Express leaves Tirunelveli Junction at 07:45 AM on Thursday and reaches Gandhidham Junction at 04:30 AM on Saturday.

The 19424 Gandhidham - Tirunelveli Humsafar Express leaves Gandhidham Junction at 14:00 PM on Monday and reaches Tirunelveli Junction at 11:30 AM on Wednesday.

Coach Composition

The composition is yet to be announced but usually Humsafar Express trains are operated with only 3-Tier AC sleeper coaches with LED screens to display information about stations, train speed etc. and will have announcement system as well, Vending machines for tea, coffee and milk, Bio toilets in compartments as well as CCTV cameras.
