Silver Lake, formerly known as Long Pond, is a small lake in the town of Hollis, New Hampshire, United States. The lake was formerly surrounded by summer vacation cottages and camps, but most of these buildings have now been converted for use as year-round homes. Silver Lake State Park occupies the northern end of the lakeshore.
The Satucket River is 5.5-mile-long (8.9 km) river in southeastern Massachusetts within the Taunton River Watershed. It flows generally west from Robbins Pond in East Bridgewater, and into the Matfield River.
The Jones River is a 7.5-mile-long (12.1 km) river running through Kingston, Massachusetts. The river drains about 30 square miles (78 km2), has its source in Silver Lake and drains into Kingston Bay. Land surrounding the river is 52% forested, of which 22% has been developed for residential use. There is a USGS stream gauge along 16 square miles (41 km2) of the river and it has measured the flow at 0.7 cubic feet per second (0.020 m3/s) per square mile of drainage area.
Trickey Pond is a water body in the U.S. state of Maine. Its maximum depth is 55 feet (17 m). The lack of serious pollution in the area contributes to the pond's remarkably good water clarity. At most points in the pond, the entire depth can be seen.
Dug Pond is a small body of water in Natick, Massachusetts. Most notably it is home to Memorial Beach, one of few swimming beaches in Natick, and its eastern shore is the site of Natick High School.
Cobbetts Pond is a 302-acre (1.2 km2) water body located in Rockingham County in southern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Windham. It is approximately 2 miles (3 km) long, and the shoreline forms the shape of an 8. The average depth is 33 feet (10 m), with a maximum depth of 50 ft (15 m).
Dan Hole Pond is a 443-acre (1.8 km2) water body located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Ossipee and Tuftonboro. The pond is situated on the south side of the Ossipee Mountains. Water exits Dan Hole Pond via the Dan Hole River, part of the Ossipee Lake watershed and ultimately that of the Saco River in Maine.
The Malden River is a 2.3-mile-long (3.7 km) river in Malden, Medford, and Everett, Massachusetts. It is roughly 675 feet (206 m) wide at its widest point and is very narrow at its smallest point. Its banks are largely occupied by industrial business, and the river is scarcely used or even mentioned. Its water quality is worse than most local waters, including the Mystic River, into which it flows.
Lake Lashaway is a 293-acre (1.19 km2) pond located near the East Brookfield and North Brookfield, Massachusetts town line. The town line cuts the lake approximately in half. The lake lies just to the north of state Route 9 as it passes through East Brookfield.
Brooks Pond is a Massachusetts water body that is privately owned, controlled and managed, and bordered by the towns of North Brookfield, Oakham, Spencer, and New Braintree. It forms the headwaters of the Five Mile River, which is part of the Chicopee River Watershed.
Monponsett Pond, also called Monponsett Lake and the Twin Lakes, originally one lake is dissected by route 58 into a system of two ponds, West and East, mostly in Halifax, Massachusetts, with a small portion of West Monponsett Pond extending into Hanson. The western basin is 282 acres (1.14 km2), and the eastern basin is 246 acres (1.00 km2). The average depth of both ponds is seven feet and the maximum depth is 13 feet (4.0 m). The outflow is Stump Brook, a tributary of Poor Meadow Brook, in the northwestern part of West Monponsett Pond. The pond is part of the Taunton River Watershed. Occasionally during water shortages water from this pond is diverted into Silver Lake, the principal water supply for the City of Brockton.
Charge Pond is a 23-acre (93,000 m2) warm water lake in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The lake has an average depth of six feet and a maximum depth of 17 feet (5.2 m). It is located within a camping area in the southernmost section of Myles Standish State Forest, south of Fearing Pond, southwest of Abner Pond, and northwest of Little Long Pond. The lake is fed by groundwater and is the headwaters to Harlow Brook.
Robbins Pond is a 124-acre (0.50 km2) warm water pond in East Bridgewater and Halifax, Massachusetts. It is part of the Taunton River Watershed. The inflow is Poor Meadow Brook, and the outflow is the Satucket River.The water is brown in color with a transparency of five feet, and the bottom is a mixture of sand and gravel. Average depth is four feet and maximum depth is just ten feet. There are 1.7 miles (2.7 km) of shoreline.
Maquan Pond is a 48-acre (190,000 m2) pond in Hanson, Massachusetts. Its average depth is 12 feet (3.7 m) and its maximum depth is 18 feet (5.5 m). The pond is a tributary to Furnace Pond, a public water supply. There has been much development along the shore. The town right-of-way is on the northern shore of the pond off Maquan Street. The water is acidic, so fishing is poor except for pickerel, small yellow perch and pumpkinseeds.
Sampsons Pond is a 310-acre (1.3 km2) warm water infertile pond in Carver, Massachusetts, in the South Carver section of town, southwest of Dunham Pond. The pond has an average depth of nine feet and a maximum depth of 14 feet (4.3 m). The water is clear with a transparency of 12 feet (3.7 m). Access to the pond is a paved launching ramp off Lake View St. suitable for trailer boats. Although there is no launching fee, the Town of Carver requires a sticker for one to park on town land next to the ramp.
The Watuppa Ponds are two large, naturally occurring, spring-fed, glacially formed ponds located in Fall River and Westport, Massachusetts. Watuppa is a native word meaning "place of boats". The two ponds were originally one body of water, connected by a narrow rocky straight called "The Narrows" located on a thin strip of land between the two ponds which forms part boundary of between Fall River and Westport. The border between Fall River and Westport is also divided between the two ponds. Together, the ponds have an overall north-south length of about 7.5 miles, and have an average east-west width of about a mile. The ponds are drained by the Quequechan River, and flows in a westerly direction through the center of Fall River from South Watuppa Pond to Mount Hope Bay.
Lovewell Pond is a sizable body of water located in southeastern Fryeburg, Maine. It has a moderately developed shoreline with approximately 75-80 buildings, not including approximately 35 others with access rights to the pond's shoreline.
Ashford Lake is a small, shallow, privately owned pond located in the eastern part of the town of Ashford in northeastern Connecticut, along the town's border with Eastford. The pond has an area of 52.6 acres and a maximum depth of approximately 12 feet. Its normal surface elevation is 659 feet above sea level.
Enchanted Pond is a mountain pond in the U.S. state of Maine. Situated in the Western Maine Mountains in the Northwest Somerset Region, the pond is located in a deep mountain valley between Coburn Mountain and Shutdown Mountain. Near its southern end, the pond is distinguished by two rockslides from the exposed cliffs of these mountains that extend down into the water along both shores. Enchanted Pond is fed by mountain springs and Little Enchanted Pond, and is the primary source of Enchanted Stream which flows into the Dead River, a tributary of the Kennebec River. Development on the pond is limited to a small set of sporting camps at the northern end of the pond and one remote camp on the southwest shore, both a part of Bulldog Camps. There are no islands in the pond.
Maranacook Lake is a body of water in Kennebec County, Maine located in the towns of Readfield, Maine and Winthrop, Maine. The lake covers 1,673 acres (677 ha) with a maximum depth of 118 feet (36 m) and a mean depth of 30 feet (9.1 m). It is one of the major bodies of water in the Winthrop Lakes Region.
