Tito Steiner (born March 1, 1952 in Paraguay) is a retired decathlete of German descent who represented Argentina in the 1970s and 1980s. He is the current Argentine record holder in the event.
He set a national record in 1981, collecting 8,279 points at a meet in Baton Rouge, United States (1981-06-03). He bested this with a score of 8,291 points, set on June 23, 1983, which is still the national record. Steiner won the silver medal at the 1979 Pan American Games in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He finished fourth at the 1975 Pan American Games and 22nd at the Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics. In 1977, while competing for Brigham Young University he earned All-American honors and the NCAA title with a score of 7,659 points. He went on to win the honor three more times, a rare athlete to achieve All-American all four competitive years. He set the national record while winning the Texas Relays in 1979, defeating the meet record by C.K. Yang. [1] He later improved upon the record in 1983 at Provo, but the meet was hand timed, common for all but the top level decathlons of that era. Decades later, hand timed marks are not as respected as fully automatic timing.
The Pan American Games is a major sporting event in the Americas featuring summer sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The competition is held among athletes from nations of the Americas, every four years in the year before the Summer Olympic Games. The only Winter Pan American Games were held in 1990. In 2021, there will be a Junior Pan American Games for young athletes. The Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) is the governing body of the Pan American Games movement, whose structure and actions are defined by the Olympic Charter.
Lynette Woodard is a retired American basketball Hall of Fame player and former head women's basketball coach at Winthrop University. Woodard made history by becoming the first female member of the Harlem Globetrotters and who, at age 38, began playing as one of the oldest members in the newly formed American women's professional basketball league, the WNBA.
Steve Scott is an American former track athlete and one of the greatest mile runners in American history. The silver medalist in the 1500 meters at the inaugural IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki in 1983, Scott owns the U.S. indoor record in the 2000 meters (4:58.6-1981). He held the American outdoor mile record for more than 26 years and also is the former American indoor record holder in the same event. Track & Field News ranked Scott #1 in the U.S. on 10 occasions, and 11 times during his career he was ranked in the top ten in the world by T&FN. Additionally, he participated for the US team at the 1984 Olympics. He finished 5th in the 1500 meter run at the 1988 Olympics held in Korea. Scott was also an Olympian on the 1980 Olympics team which was not allowed to go to Moscow. He ran the sub four-minute mile on 136 occasions in his career, more than any other runner in history.

Pamela Ann Spencer is a retired high jumper from the United States, who set her personal best on 1981-08-28, jumping 1.97 metres at a meet in Brussels, Belgium. She competed for her native country at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, finishing in eleventh place.

Oscar Daniel Bezerra Schmidt is a retired Brazilian professional basketball player. He is also known as Oscar Schmidt in Spain, where he played for Fórum Valladolid for the 1993–94 and 1994–95 seasons, and simply Oscar, or Mão Santa, in his homeland. Schmidt played the small forward position, was 2.05 m tall and weighed 107 kg (236 lbs). He was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
Frances Hollingsworth "Holly" Warlick is an American college basketball coach who was head coach for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. She replaced head coach Pat Summitt prior to the 2012–13 season and held the position until the end of the 2018–19 season. Warlick was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.
The men's national basketball team of the United States won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Defending the gold medal won by the 2008 team in the previous Olympic Games, the Americans qualified for the 2012 Games after winning the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The Olympic team lost some players to injuries who might have made the team, and appeared to be short on big men. Their roster featured five players returning from the 2008 Olympic team and five others from the 2010 World Championship. Coming off a victory in the 2011-2012 National Basketball Association (NBA) finals, LeBron James became the leader of the Olympic team.
Mike Bradley is an American former sprinter. He set a collegiate record in the 600 meters in December 1983 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. His personal Record of 45.34 seconds for the 400 meters was set at the 1983 TAC Meet in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a two-time Big 8 Champion at 600 yards. His Big 8 record of 1:08.89 was set in February 1983. he was the Kansas State High School Champion in the 100, 200 and 400 meters in 1979.; all in state record times. He was a Class 1A State Player of the Year in basketball, averaging over 25 points per game. He was a member of the 4×400 meter relay team that won a gold medal at the 1983 Pan Am Games, setting a Pan Am Games record for the event of 3:00.47.
Damian Warner is a Canadian track and field athlete specializing in decathlon. He won the silver medal at the 2015 World Championships and was a bronze medalist at the 2013 and 2019 World Championships and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Warner also was the Commonwealth champion from the Glasgow games and the two-time and reigning Pan American champion from the 2015 and 2019 Games. Warner also holds the title to the Pan Am Games record and the Canadian record for the decathlon. Notable for his sprinting, Warner holds decathlon bests in the 100 m and 110 m hurdles, running a 10.12 and 13.27 respectively.
Karl Michael Tilleman is an attorney and two-time Canadian Olympian. Among his accomplishments, Tilleman holds the Olympic record for the most three-point baskets in a single basketball game, hitting ten of sixteen three-point shots, and scoring 21 points in a row for Canada, in a game against Spain in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. His Olympic and other international performances against such hall of fame basketball players as Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, and Charles Barkley led team coach, Jack Donohue, to call him "the best three-point shooter in the world." His Olympic three-point record has never been broken, but has been tied twice, most recently by Carmelo Anthony of the US, in 2012.
Bobby Coffman is an American former track and field athlete who competed in the decathlon. He set his personal record of 8274 points in Quebec City on August 12, 1979.
Lindon Victor is a Grenadian athlete who competes in the decathlon. In 2016, he scored 8446 points with nine personal bests at the Southeastern Conference Championship decathlon, breaking both the SEC record and the Grenadian National Record, the latter of which was set by his brother, Kurt Felix, at the 2015 IAAF World Championships. Victor was named 2016 SEC Field Athlete of the Year.
Rolando Frazer Thorne is a former Panamanian professional basketball player. At a height of 6'7" tall, he played at the power forward and center positions. He was an inaugural inductee of the Briar Cliff Athletic Hall of Fame, in 1991.
Argentina is expected to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games have been postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's official debut in 1900, Argentine athletes have competed in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, except the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis, the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, and the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of their support for the United States-led boycott.
