Tobías Nahuel Figueroa (born 2 February 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer, who plays as a striker for Curicó Unido. [1]

Career

Figueroa made his professional debut with Belgrano in the Argentine Primera División, he played the final few minutes in a 2–0 win against Atlético Tucumán on 2 May 2011. [1] That was one of six appearances to come in his first four seasons. [1] In January 2014, Figueroa joined Almirante Brown in Primera B Nacional. [2] He made his debut against Banfield, before scoring his first career goal in his following match versus Villa San Carlos. [1] In total, Figueroa scored three goals in twenty games in 2013–14 as they were relegated. [1] [3] Figueroa completed a loan move to fellow Primera B Nacional team Crucero del Norte in August 2014. [4]

One goal in thirteen appearances followed as Crucero were promoted to the 2015 Argentine Primera División. [1] 2015 saw him leave Belgrano on a temporary basis for a third occasion, this time by joining Primera División side Sarmiento. [1] His first goal for Sarmiento came on 21 March, against former team Crucero del Norte. [1] He returned to Belgrano in December after twenty matches and three goals for the Junín-based outfit. [1] On 16 January 2016, Figueroa signed for Primera B Nacional club Guillermo Brown on a two-season loan. [1] He went onto score twenty-seven goals in fifty-nine fixtures for the second tier side. In January 2018, Figueroa left Argentine football to join Unión Española of the Chilean Primera División on loan. [6] [7] He scored on his debut by getting the winning goal in an away win at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos versus Universidad de Chile on 4 February. [1] He followed that with a hat-trick in a 4–4 draw with Curicó Unido on 26 February. [1] His loan with Unión Española ended at the end of November, having scored fourteen times for them. [1] [8] Figueroa sealed a return to Chile with Deportes Antofagasta on 24 January 2019. [9]

On 22 January 2022, Figueroa joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Tai. [10]

The 2019–20 Copa Argentina was the eleventh edition of the Copa Argentina, and the ninth since the relaunch of the tournament in 2011. The competition began on 15 January 2020 and ended on 8 December 2021. On 17 March 2020, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) announced the suspension of the tournament to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. After several months the tournament resumed on 23 December 2020.

The 2022 Argentine Torneo Federal A, was the tenth season of the Torneo Federal A, the regionalised third tier of the Argentine football league system. The tournament is reserved for teams indirectly affiliated to the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA), while teams affiliated to AFA have to play the Primera B Metropolitana, which is the other third tier competition. The competition was contested by 29 of the 31 teams that took part in the 2021 season and four teams promoted from Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. Two teams will be promoted to Primera Nacional and four teams were relegated to Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. The season began on 27 march and ended in 13 November 2022.
