Magneto was a popular Mexican boy band of the 1980s and 1990s. The band formed on February 14, 1983. In 1986, Magneto was featured in "Siempre en Domingo," a Mexican entertainment show viewed across Latin America and parts of Europe. Mexican teen pop group Magneto emerged in 1983. Their first record, Dejalo Que Gire came in 1984, followed by Super 6 Magneto. The Latin pop outfit suffered several lineup changes before achieving their first gold record in 1986. Mostly playing dance-pop songs, the five-member ensemble started touring Central America after climbing charts with "Todo Esta Muy Bien," and "Soy Un Soñador." However, their breakthrough came after issuing a Spanish-language version of Desireless' "Voyage, voyage," a French pop hit from the '80s. In 1992 the boy band played the lead in their own movie, Cambiando el Destino. Magneto won the Lo Nuestro Award for Pop New Artist of the Year, and received two nominations for the Lo Nuestro Awards of 1993: Pop Album (Magneto) and Pop Group of the Year. Nevertheless, the original Magneto disbanded in 1996 after a sold-out show at Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional.
Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri is a Puerto Rican–born Mexican singer and record producer. Born to parents of Spanish and Italian descent, he is often referred to as El Sol de Mexico, derived from the nickname his mother gave him as a child: "Mi sol". Luis Miguel has sung in multiple genres and styles, including pop songs, ballads, boleros, tangos, jazz, big band, and mariachi. Luis Miguel is also recognized as the only Latin singer of his generation to not cross over to the Anglo market during the "Latin Explosion" in the 1990s.
Sheena Shirley Easton is a Scottish singer and actress. She came into the public eye in an episode of the first British musical reality television series The Big Time: Pop Singer, which recorded her attempts to gain a record deal and her eventual signing with the EMI label. Easton's first two singles, "Modern Girl" and "9 to 5", both entered the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart simultaneously. She became one of the most successful British female recording artists of the 1980s.
José Gómez Romero, artistically known as Dyango, nicknamed "The Voice of Love", is a Spanish musician and singer of romantic music. He is widely regarded as one of the most romantic Spanish singers, and one of the best performers on the international level. He has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
Marisela Hernandez, commonly known as Marisela, is a Mexican-American singer. In 1984, she recorded her first album at the age of 18, and continued to release albums into the 1990s. Her cover version of Barbara George's single "I Know ", titled "Ya No", peaked at number-one in the Billboard Latin Songs chart in 1990. As a child she starred in Villa Alegre.
"We've Got Tonite" is a song written by American rock music artist Bob Seger, from his album Stranger in Town (1978). The single record charted twice for Seger, and was developed from a prior song that he had written. Further versions charted in 1983 for Kenny Rogers as a duet with Sheena Easton, and again in 2002 for Ronan Keating.
Palabra de honor is the fourth studio album released by Mexican performer Luis Miguel on 9 November 1984 with his then record label EMI. It was heavily promoted in México. The single "Isabel" was ranked at number 70 on the VH1 Top 100 of Greatest Songs of the 80's in Spanish. It also includes a duet with Scottish singer Sheena Easton, "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres," which received the Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance. The album peaked at No. 9 in the California's Billboard Top Latin Albums. According to a promotional ad by EMI, the album was certified gold in Mexico and platinum in Argentina.
Romantico Desde Siempre Volume 1 and 2, are a compilation of romantic songs from the first albums by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. The Volume 1 was released on November 29, 1994, and the Volume 2 on 1997, both by EMI Latin. The first volume peaked at No. 26 on the Top Latin Albums chart.
"Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)" is a song by Scottish singer Sheena Easton, the first single released from her fourth album, 1983's Best Kept Secret. In November 1984, Easton added "Telefono" to her Spanish album Todo Me Recuerda a Ti for the Latin markets. The song was nominated for a Grammy in 1983 for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Lourdes Robles is a singer-songwriter and actress, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her career started in the early 1980s as part of duo Lourdes y Carlos, releasing two albums. The duo split and Robles began a solo career, acting in "Barrio Cuatro Calles" and "Generaciones", along Puerto-Rican performer Chayanne. She also performed in some musical productions, including Hello, Dolly!, Into the Woods, and The Fantasticks.
"Me Gustas Tal Como Eres" is a song written by Juan Carlos Calderón and Luis Gómez Escolar, produced by Calderón, and performed by Scottish singer Sheena Easton in a duet with Mexican singer Luis Miguel. The track was released by EMI Music as the first single from her first Spanish language album Todo Me Recuerda a Ti (1984). The song earned the Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Performance at the 27th Grammy Awards, being the second time that this award was handed out. Easton and Miguel's winning resulted in controversy with Mexican-American musicians, and a protest ensued. The award became the second Grammy for Easton, after being recognized as the Best New Artist in 1981, and the first for Miguel. The song was later included on Miguel's studio album Palabra de Honor (1984).

Mexican entertainer Paulina Rubio has released four video albums and has appeared in fifty music videos and three guest appearances. From her debut studio album La Chica Dorada (1992), she released music videos for the singles "Mío" and "Amor De Mujer", all directed by Ángel Flores and released from 1992–93. For the first of these, she earned an nomination ERES Award for Best Video. She followed with three other music videos from her second album 24 Kilates (1993), "Nieva, Nieva", "Él Me Engañó" and "Asunto De Dos", directed by Ángel Flores, Daniel Gruener and Tito Lara, respectively Rubio's third studio album El Tiempo Es Oro (1995) spawned the singles "Te Daría Mi Vida" and "Nada De Ti", whose music videos was directed by Carlos Marcovich. This was followed by Planeta Paulina's videos: "Siempre Tuya Desde La Raíz", a futuristic video with a concept cosmic and 70's dance, "Solo Por Ti", recorded in a barren desert of Mexico and "Enamorada", which tells the story of gay couple. The three videos was directed by Tito Lara from 1992-1997.
