Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto was a Finnish architect and designer. His work includes architecture, furniture, textiles and glassware, as well as sculptures and paintings. He never regarded himself as an artist, seeing painting and sculpture as "branches of the tree whose trunk is architecture." Aalto's early career ran in parallel with the rapid economic growth and industrialization of Finland during the first half of the 20th century. Many of his clients were industrialists, among them the Ahlström-Gullichsen family, who became his patrons. The span of his career, from the 1920s to the 1970s, is reflected in the styles of his work, ranging from Nordic Classicism of the early work, to a rational International Style Modernism during the 1930s to a more organic modernist style from the 1940s onwards.
Erik "Eero" Nikolai Järnefelt was a Finnish painter and art professor. He is best known for his portraits and landscapes of the area around Koli National Park. He was a medal winner at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1889 and 1900, and he taught art at the University of Helsinki and was chairman of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.
Nurmijärvi is the most populated rural municipality of Finland, located 37 kilometres (23 mi) north of the capital Helsinki. Hyvinkää is a city and municipality of Finland. It is located in the Uusimaa region, approximately 50 kilometres (30 mi) north of the capital Helsinki. The city was chartered in 1960. The population of Hyvinkää is 46,871. Its neighboring municipalities are Riihimäki and Hausjärvi in the north, Mäntsälä in the east, Tuusula and Nurmijärvi in the south, and Vihti and Loppi in the west.

Yrjö Kalervo Sotamaa is a Finnish designer and design strategist. Sotamaa is Professor Emeritus of Design Innovation in the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture and President Emeritus of the University of Art and Design Helsinki (TAIK). He served as the President of TAIK from 1986 until 2008. He earned his MA in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design from TAIK, where he studied with Kaj Franck and Antti Nurmesniemi.
Ida Helmi Tuulikki Pietilä was an American-born Finnish graphic artist and professor. Pietilä is considered one of Finland's most influential graphic artists, with her work being shown in multiple art exhibitions. She worked as a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki, and later trained graphic artists and wrote multiple books about graphic arts.
Victor Sydorenko is a painter, curator, teacher, an author of objects and photocompositions and also scientific and publicistic texts. Since 1997 he is the member and the vice-president of Ukrainian Academy of Arts. In 2001 Sydorenko has founded and has headed Modern Art Research Institute of Ukrainian Academy of Arts.

Petri Kaverma is a Finnish artist and curator who has held several private exhibitions, and participated in various group and joint exhibitions both in Finland and abroad. The themes of his exhibitions have ranged from universal issues to more private and personal topics, and the forms of expression Kaverma uses have varied from photography and video to mixed-media sculptures. Aiming to create a dialogue between the works and their physical and social setting, he has made several works for public spaces. Equally important are the works created in different cultures, particularly in Beijing, China in 2008. Kaverma has taught in several art schools as well as in the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki; he has curated exhibitions and organised visual art and environmental art projects both in Finland and abroad.
The University of the Arts Helsinki, also known as Uniarts Helsinki, is a Finnish arts university that was launched in the beginning of 2013. Apart from a few exceptions, it is the only university in Finland that provides education in the fields it represents.
Nukari is a village located in the northeast part of Nurmijärvi municipality of Finland, near the border of Tuusula municipality. The nearest neighboring village is Jokela, about 4 kilometers. Next to Nukari is the national road 45, which runs between Helsinki, Tuusula and Hyvinkää. The population of village is about 350 inhabitants.
Gertrud Linnéa Sprinchorn was a Swedish sculptor and ceramist. She is best known for her sculptures Cleopatra and Helig dans, the former of which won her the Royal Medal from the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts.
