Toki no Tabibito:Time Stranger (時空の旅人-Time Stranger-) is a 1986 Japanese animated science fiction film based on the novel by Taku Mayumura. Produced by Madhouse Studios and directed and co-written by Mori Masaki,the film was released in Japan on December 20,1986,on Kadokawa Shoten and Toho. The character designs were by Moto Hagio.
The film was adapted into a Family Computer game by Kemco and was released on December 26,1986.

A 13-episode anime series produced by Studio Deen aired between October and December 2003. Urusei Yatsura 4:Lum the Forever was directed again by Kazuo Yamazaki and released on February 22,1986.
Kazuo Oga is an art director and background artist for many Madhouse Studio and Studio Ghibli anime films. Oga has worked with major directors Hayao Miyazaki,Isao Takahata,Yoshiaki Kawajiri,Osamu Dezaki. He also published two artbooks and directed a short animated film.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a 2006 Japanese-animated science fiction romance film produced by Madhouse,directed by Mamoru Hosoda and written by Satoko Okudera. Released by Kadokawa Herald Pictures,the film is a loose sequel to the 1967 novel of the same name by Yasutaka Tsutsui and shares the basic premise of a young girl who gains the power of time travel and repeatedly relives the same day in a time loop,but with a different story and characters than the novel. Riisa Naka voices teenager Makoto Konno,who learns from Kazuko Yoshiyama,Makoto's aunt and the protagonist to the original story,that Makoto has the power to travel through time. Makoto begins using the time-leaps frivolously to fix problems. Riisa Naka later portrays Makoto's cousin,Akari Yoshiyama,the protagonist of the 2010 film Time Traveller:The Girl Who Leapt Through Time,which follows a different story.
Taku Mayumura was a Japanese novelist,science fiction writer and haiku poet. He won the Seiun Award for Novel twice. His novel Shiseikan,written in 1974,was translated into English by Daniel Jackson in 2004. Mayumura was also a young adult fiction writer whose works have been adapted into TV drama,film,and anime. Mayumura was an honorary member of the SFWJ.

Kyoto Animation also adapted it into two anime television series consisting of 49 episodes broadcast between 2007 and 2009,including two original video animation episodes released in 2008 and 2009,directed by Tatsuya Ishihara with music direction by Shinji Orito. The discography of Clannad and its anime adaptations consists of two studio albums,four singles,two soundtracks,and four remix albums.
Tensai Okamura,born Yutaka Okamura on December 13,1961,in Fukushima Prefecture,is a Japanese anime director and animator. Okamura grew up in Yokohama,Kanagawa Prefecture. He is a graduate of Waseda University's department of science and engineering. In 1991,he changed his first name to Tensai.
