Tokyo Zombie (Japanese:東京ゾンビ,Hepburn:TōkyōZonbi) is a manga written in 1999 by Yusaku Hanakuma. It was subsequently made into a 2005 Japanese film written and directed by Sakichi Sato. The films stars Tadanobu Asano,Show Aikawa,and Erika Okuda. [1] [2] The movie was released in North America,UK and later Australia and New Zealand in 2009.
Fujio and Mitsuo are two full-time slackers who work in a fire extinguisher factory. The two spend their lunch hours training to fulfill their dreams of being jujitsu champions. One day,they murder their boss and dump his body on a Tokyo toxic waste dump known as "Black Fuji". Things suddenly become worse when an army of the undead rises from the waste dump and begin to attack the living. In order to survive,they will have to employ their limited jujitsu skills,to either help or escape Tokyo.
In a list of "10 Great Zombie Manga",Anime News Network's Jason Thompson placed Tokyo Zombie in ninth place,calling it "good,cheesy,ultraviolent entertainment". [3]
Yukito Kishiro is a Japanese manga artist born in Tokyo in 1967 and raised in Chiba. As a teenager he was influenced by the mecha anime Armored Trooper Votoms and Mobile Suit Gundam,in particular the designs of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko,as well as the works of manga artist Rumiko Takahashi. He began his career at age 17,with his debut manga,Space Oddity,in the Weekly Shonen Sunday. He is best known for the cyberpunk series Battle Angel Alita.
Tokyo Babylon,also known as Tokyo Babylon:A Save Tokyo City Story,is a Japanese manga series created by mangaka group Clamp. The series follows Subaru Sumeragi,the head of the Sumeragi clan,and his sister Hokuto,as they work to protect Tokyo from a myriad of supernatural perils while living with a man named Seishiro Sakurazuka. Shinshokan serialized it in South and Wingsshōjo manga magazines from 1990 to 1993,and it was collected in seven tankōbon volumes. Akiko Higashimura is a Japanese manga artist from Kushima in Miyazaki Prefecture. She debuted in the now-defunct manga magazine Bouquet Deluxe in 1999 with Fruits Kōmori (フルーツコウモリ) and later gained notoriety for her manga Kisekae Yuka-chan,which debuted in Cookie magazine in 2001. Higashimura was nominated for the Manga Taishōin 2008 for Himawari:Kenichi Legend,in 2009 for Mama wa Tenparist,in 2010 for Princess Jellyfish,in 2011 for Omo ni Naitemasu,and in 2016 and 2017 for Tokyo Tarareba Girls. In 2010,she won the 34th Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shōjo Manga for Princess Jellyfish. In 2015,she won both the 8th Manga Taishōand the Grand Prize at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival for Blank Canvas:My So-Called Artist's Journey. In 2019,she won the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia for Tokyo Tarareba Girls. Higashimura's younger brother,Takuma Morishige,is the author of the manga My Neighbor Seki.
Big Comic is a semimonthly seinen manga magazine published since 28 February 1968 by Shogakukan in Japan. It was originally launched as a monthly magazine,but switched to twice monthly on the 10th and 25th beginning in April 1968. It is paired with sister magazine Big Comic Original,going on sale in the weeks Big Comic Original does not. Circulation in 2008 was reported at slightly over a half-million copies. but by mid-2015 had declined to 315,000,as part of an industry-wide trend in manga magazine sales.

The Laughing Salesman is a Japanese manga series created by Fujiko Fujio. Kamisama Minarai:Himitsu no Cocotama is a Japanese anime television series animated by OLM,Inc.,based on both the series of toys and Media Franchise created by Bandai Namco Holdings. The series focuses on Kokoro Yotsuba,a fifth grader who accidentally witness a small god born from her treasured color pencil set,and must be bound through a contract in order to keep his existence a secret. The series was directed by Norio Nitta and written by Michihiro Tsuchiya with character designs by Shinobu Ookawa. The series aired on all TXN stations in Japan from October 2015 to June 2018,replacing Tamagotchi! on its initial timeslot. The series uses a few elements from Shinto Animism,regarding the Cocotamas.
Tokyo Tarareba Girls is a Japanese josei manga series written and illustrated by Akiko Higashimura. It was serialized in Kodansha's Kiss magazine from March 2014 to April 2017 and later collected in nine bound volumes. It is licensed for an English-language release by Kodansha USA. The manga won the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia in 2019.

An anime television series adaptation by Liden Films aired from April to September 2021. A second season is set to premiere in January 2023. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in July 2021.
