Tomáš Záborský (born 14 November 1987 in Trenčín, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for SaiPa of the Finnish Liiga.

Trenčín is a city in western Slovakia of the central Váh River valley near the Czech border, around 120 km (75 mi) from Bratislava. It has a population of more than 55,000, which makes it the eighth largest municipality of the country and is the seat of the Trenčín Region and the Trenčín District. Drafted in the 5th round, 137th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, in the 2006 CHL Import Draft, Zaborsky was selected 36th overall by the Saginaw Spirit.

The Canadian Hockey League is an umbrella organization that represents the three Canada-based major junior ice hockey leagues. The CHL was founded in 1975 as the Canadian Major Junior Hockey League, and is composed of its three member leagues, the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. For the 2018-19 season, its three leagues and 60 teams represent nine Canadian provinces as well as four American states.

He spent his entire OHL career with the Saginaw Spirit. Zaborsky has also played professionally in Slovakia with HC Dukla Trenčín. He has played in the ECHL for the Charlotte Checkers and Dayton Bombers, and spent time in the AHL with the Hartford Wolfpack, the New York Rangers' AHL affiliate. Since the 2009–2010 he is playing in Pori, Finland, playing for Ässät. Zaborsky was named the European Hockey Player of the Month by eurohockey.com in September 2011. In 2012, he signed a two-year contract with Avangard Omsk.

The Saginaw Spirit is a major junior ice hockey team based in Saginaw, Michigan. They are members of the West Division of the Western Conference of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), one of the Major Junior leagues of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).

On 26 April 2019, Záborský left Tappara after two seasons and opted to continue his professional career in the Liiga, agreeing to a two-year contract as a free agent with SaiPa. [1]
