Thomas C. Brown (born August 26, 1933) was an American politician in the state of Florida.
Brown was born in Daytona Beach, Florida and attended David Lipscomb College as well as the University of Florida. [1] He served in the Florida House of Representatives for the 29th district from 1980 to 1986, as a Democrat. [2] Brown also served in the Florida Senate from 1987 to 1991 for the 10th district. [3]
Corrine Brown is an American former politician and convicted felon who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida from 1993 to 2017. She is a member of the Democratic Party. After a court-ordered redistricting significantly changed her district and a federal indictment for corruption, Brown was defeated in the 2016 Democratic primary by Al Lawson, who went on to win Brown's former seat.

Alfred James Lawson Jr. is an American businessman and politician who was the U.S. representative for Florida's 5th congressional district from 2017 to 2023. The district, which was eliminated following redistricting during the 2022 Florida legislative session, stretched across most of the border with Georgia, including most of the majority-black areas between Tallahassee and Jacksonville. Lawson challenged fellow Congressman Neal Dunn in the newly redrawn 2nd congressional district, which pitted them against each other in Lawson's home city. Lawson won the Democratic primary unopposed, and lost to Dunn in the general election.

Incumbent one-term Republican Senator Rick Scott was elected with 50.05% of the vote in 2018. He is running for re-election to a second term in office. Senator Scott has announced plans to seek the seat for a second term, despite earlier rumors he may have opted instead to run for President.
