Toseland is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. The name Toseland is Scandinavian and has connections to the Old Norse word 'lunde' translated as a type of sacred or small wood. The parish is neighbours with nearby parishes within Cambridgeshire such as Yelling, Gravely, Great Paxton and St Agnes.
James Michael Toseland is an English former motorcycle racer and a current vocalist of an English rock band Toseland (Band). Toseland was the 2007 World Superbike Champion on a Ten Kate Honda, and also won the 2004 Superbike World Championship on a Ducati. He is one of only two men, the other being Troy Corser, to have won the World Superbike Championship for two different manufacturers. On 9 September 2011 he officially retired from professional motorsport due to a wrist injury sustained in March 2011 at an official World Superbike Championship testing session at Motorland Aragon, Spain.

Superbike World Championship is a motorsport road racing series for modified production motorcycles also known as superbike racing. The championship was founded in 1988. The 2008 Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix was the opening round of the 2008 MotoGP championship. It took place on the weekend of 7–9 March 2008 at the Losail International Circuit located in Doha, Qatar. The race was historic in that it was the first one to be run at night, with the MotoGP race getting underway at 23:00 local time. Rookies Lorenzo and Toseland started their season strong with Lorenzo getting pole position and Toseland in 2nd during qualifying.

52 Express is a turbine powered streamliner motorcycle designed and built by Alex Macfadzean as an all-British land-speed record challenger. It was first displayed to the public in 2014, and as of late 2014 has not been speed tested in public. The intended rider is retired British racer James Toseland.
