The Trnovo District (Slovene : Četrtna skupnost Trnovo), or simply Trnovo, is a district (mestna četrt) of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

The Anton Melik Geographical Institute was founded in 1946 by the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. In 1976 it was named after the Slovene geographer and academy member Anton Melik (1890–1966), who was the first head of the institute. Since 1981, the institute has been a member of the Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Until 1992 the institute was mainly engaged with researching glaciers, glacial and fluvial transformations of land surfaces, flooded areas, natural disasters, mountain farms, and social geography. Since 1993 the institute's main task has been to conduct geographical studies of Slovenia and its landscapes and to prepare basic geographical texts on Slovenia as a country and as part of the world.

The Rooster Bridge in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a footbridge crossing the Gradaščica River in the Trnovo District south of the downtown of Ljubljana. It stands between the Trnovo Bridge and the outflow of the Gradaščica into the Ljubljanica, and connects Gradaščica Street in the northern Krakovo neighbourhood to Eipper Street in the southern Trnovo neighbourhood. These are the oldest Ljubljana suburbs, known for their market gardens and cultural events.
The Prule Bridge or the Brickmakers' Bridge is a bridge crossing the Ljubljanica River in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located in the Trnovo District to the south of the Ljubljana old town and links the residential districts of Prule and Trnovo. It is shaped like a wide platform on two columns with lookout balconies and with wide pavements, covered with red brick.
The Trnovo Bridge is a bridge crossing the Gradaščica River in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is located in front of Trnovo Church at the end of Karun Street to the south of the city centre and is a continuation of Emona Street. It connects the neighborhoods of Krakovo and Trnovo, the oldest Ljubljana suburbs, known for their market gardens and cultural events. A bridge has stood on the site since the late 17th century. The modern bridge was built between 1928 and 1932 by the constructor Matko Curk upon the plans of the architect Jože Plečnik. It is distinguished by its width and the trees that it bears. It is the most prominent object of Plečnik's renovation of the banks of the Gradaščica.
