"Trucker's Hitch" is a single by the Norwegian duo Ylvis. It was uploaded onto YouTube on September 16, 2014 and had over 22 million views as of January 22,2020. [1] The song reached number 10 on the charts in Norway. The song was created as a promo for the duo's TV show "I Kveld Med Ylvis", similarly to their previous hit The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?).

Production

The brothers Vegard and Bård Ylvisåker, members of the Norwegian comedy group Ylvis, produced the song and music video "Trucker's Hitch" to promote the 4th season of their TV show I kveld med Ylvis on TVNorge. The song was produced by Stargate, who also produced Ylvis' viral hit The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?).

Live performances

Ylvis' first live performance of "Trucker's Hitch" was during their appearance on the Skavlan talk show in Sweden on 19 September 2014. [2] The song was later performed live during concerts given in 2015 in Norway and Sweden as a part of duo's The Expensive Jacket Tour.

Ylvis is a Norwegian comedy duo consisting of brothers Vegard and Bård Ylvisåker. They debuted as professional variety artists in 2000 and have since appeared in several countries in variety shows, comedy concerts, television shows, radio shows and music videos. They hosted the Norwegian talk show I kveld med Ylvis (2011-2016). Their song and music video "The Fox ", written and filmed for the talk show, went viral on YouTube in September 2013. The top trending video of 2013 on YouTube, "The Fox" was posted on the platform on 3 September 2013, and has received over 968 million views as of October 2020. "The Fox" peaked at the top of the Norwegian Singles Chart and was hugely successful in the United States, where it peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks, and was, before the U.S. release of "Am I Wrong" by Nico & Vinz, the highest-ranked song by a Norwegian artist on the chart since A-ha's number-one song "Take On Me" in 1985.

I kveld med YLVIS is a Norwegian talk show hosted by Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker, with Calle Hellevang-Larsen as a permanent sidekick.
