Wang Jin-pyng is a Taiwanese politician. He served as President of the Legislative Yuan from 1999 to 2016,which makes him Taiwan's longest-serving legislative speaker. Once a leading figure of the Kuomintang (KMT),Wang is considered to be soft-spoken and a conciliatory figure who has often brokered deals between the KMT and opposition DPP. Due to his longevity,experience and influence in political scene,he is widely a respected figure in Taiwanese politics. He was replaced by Democratic Progressive Party's Su Jia-chyuan as President of the Legislative Yuan after a decisive victory for the DPP in the 2016 election.

Wu Po-hsiung is a Taiwanese politician who is a former chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT). He has been the Interior Minister (1984-1988),Mayor of Taipei (1988–1990),Secretary-General to the President (1991–1996),and Chairman of the KMT (2007-2009). Wu was nominated as Honorary Chairman of the Kuomintang when he was succeeded by Ma Ying-jeou as the Chairman of the Kuomintang.
The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) is a preferential trade agreement between the governments of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China that aims to reduce tariffs and commercial barriers between the two sides. Eric Chu Li-luan is a Taiwanese politician. He was born into a political family with strong Kuomintang (KMT) ties,and served as Vice Premier of the Republic of China,under Premier Wu Den-yih. Prior to this,Chu served as legislator and as the magistrate of Taoyuan County. He was elected as the first mayor of the newly established city of New Taipei on 27 November 2010. On 17 January 2015,he was elected unopposed as Chairman of the Kuomintang,succeeding Ma Ying-jeou. On 17 October 2015,he was chosen as KMT candidate for the 2016 presidential election replacing incumbent candidate Hung Hsiu-chu. Chu was defeated by his opponent Tsai Ing-wen,and subsequently resigned his post as KMT chairman. He was succeeded as mayor of New Taipei by Hou You-yi in 2018.
Kao Hua-chu is a retired Republic of China Army general and the incumbent Secretary-General of the National Security Council of the Republic of China. He was the Minister of National Defense that appointed to the post by then Premier-designate Wu Den-yih on 9 September 2009. On 29 July 2013,Kao resigned from his post due to the death scandal of Corporal Hung Chung-chiu of the Republic of China Army during his conscription on 4 July 2013.
