UVSE

UVSE is a water polo club from Budapest, Hungary, founded in 2008. It was split off from Újpesti TE, which afterwards folded. [1] They have teams in the men's and women's Hungarian First Division. The women have won the 2014–15 and the 2015–16 competition. [2]

Hungary competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. Hungarian athletes have competed at every Summer Olympic Games in the modern era, except the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, and the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles because of the Soviet boycott. The Hungarian Olympic Committee sent a total of 209 athletes to the Games, 119 men and 90 women, to compete in 20 sports. Water polo and handball were the only team-based sports in which Hungary had its representation in these Olympic Games. There was only a single competitor in road cycling and mountain biking.

Water polo at the Summer Olympics

Water polo has been part of the Summer Olympics program since the second games, in 1900. A women's water polo tournament was introduced for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Hungary has been the most successful country in men's tournament, while the United States is the only team to win multiple times at the women's tournament since its introduction. Italy is the first and only country to win both the men's and women's water polo tournaments.

The 2012 Men's European Water Polo Championship took place at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swim Stadium in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, from 16 to 29 January 2012.

Hungary competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. Hungarian athletes have competed at every Summer Olympic Games in the modern era, except the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, and the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles because of the Soviet boycott. The Hungarian Olympic Committee sent the nation's smallest delegation to the Games since 1956. A total of 159 athletes, 97 men and 62 women, competed in 18 sports.

Margaret Ann Steffens is an American water polo player. She won the gold medal with the United States in the 2012 Summer Olympics, and in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She ranks second on the all-time scoring list in Olympic history, with 38 goals.

The Women's LEN Trophy is LEN's second-tier competition for women's water polo clubs. First held in 2000 as the LEN Women's Cup Winners' Cup, it is currently contested by around 15 teams, which can qualify for it either directly due to high ranking at their domestic league or by being eliminated at certain stages of the Champions' Cup. Italy's Gifa Palermo, Ortigia, Racing Roma, Shturm Ruza and Imperia are the most successful clubs in the competition with two titles each.

The Women's Water Polo First League(Női Országos Bajnokság I) is the premier Hungarian championship for women's water polo clubs. First held in 1984, it is currently contested by ten teams. The champion takes part in the Champions' Cup.

The Hungarian Cup is the Hungarian cup competition for water polo. It has been incepted by the Hungarian Water Polo Federation, the Magyar Vízilabda Szövetség in 1999.

Diapolo is a Hungarian clothing company specializing in swimwear for water polo, swimming and recreation for men and women. The name is a combination of the words diablo and polo. Their "dp" logo also feature a pair of devil horns and a pitchfork.

The 2017 Women's LEN Super Cup was the 12th edition of the annual trophy organised by LEN and contested by the reigning champions of the two European competitions for women's water polo clubs.
