Universitarios is the fifth urban sector in the central area of Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. The zone features city's City University of Autonomous University of Sinaloa , including one of the UAS High Schools campuses, the city's Botanical Garden and the Science Center of Sinaloa.

Culiacán is a city in northwestern Mexico. It is the largest city in and the capital of the state of Sinaloa. It is also the seat of Culiacán Municipality. It had an urban population of 785,800 in 2015 while 905,660 lived in the entire municipality. While the municipality has a total area of 4,758 km2 (1,837 sq mi), the city itself is considerably smaller, measuring only 65 km2 (25 sq mi).

Culiacán Botanical Garden

It is a botanical garden of 10 hectares, located next to City University Culiacan, whose main functions are botanical species conservation, scientific research, environmental education and the promotion of culture and recreation.

Raúl Meza Ontiveros

Raúl Meza Ontiveros, commonly referred to by his alias "El M6", was a Mexican suspected drug lord and high-ranking leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal group based in Sinaloa. He was the right-hand man of Javier Torres Félix, the former leading operator of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, one of Mexico's most-wanted drug lords. In 1997, he was arrested with several of his accomplices in Cancún in possession of 348 kilograms (767 lb) of Colombian cocaine. He was sentenced to ten years in prison, but was released in 1998 for inconsistencies in the case. Investigators suspected that he rejoined organized crime after his release and climbed up the leadership chain of the Sinaloa Cartel.

The Tacuarineros de Culiacán baseball club was one of the four original founding members of the Mexican Pacific Coast League, a minor league circuit that operated in Mexico in the seasons from 1945-46 through 1957-58. They were managed by Manuel Arroyo.
