The University of Home Economics Lahore is a public university located in Lahore, Pakistan. It was founded in 1955 to create a center for teaching and research in the field of Home Economics.

Degree programs

It offers bachelor's degree of four years integrated BS course. Two years M.Sc degree is also offered in five major areas of Home Economics. The college is also offering Graduate and Post Graduate diplomas. M. Phil and Ph. D degree programmes are also offered.

Shabnam Shakeel was a Pakistani poet, writer, and academician. Shabnam spent her early life in Lahore, Pakistan, and received a master's degree in Urdu literature. During her career, she worked as a lecturer at several colleges in Pakistan. Her first book Tanqeedi Mazameen, was published in 1965. She won numerous awards, honours and titles for her contributions to Urdu literature including the prestigious presidents' Pride of Performance award in 2005.

Farooq Qaiser in Lahore is a Pakistani artist, newspaper columnist, TV show director, puppeteer, script writer and voice actor. He has also written some comic books. Qaiser is well known for his fictional puppet Uncle Sargam introduced in 1976 in children's television show Kaliyan. Farooq is also a cartoonist, newspaper columnist and writes for the newspaper Daily Nai Baat in Lahore and is famous for his column-writing name Meethay Karelay.

He is noted for his notable work in analytical philosophy and pioneered the idea of Muslim philosophy. He wrote on this subject and his work was published in international philosophical journals.
