The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is a public university in Greeley, Colorado. The university was founded in 1889 as the State Normal School of Colorado and has a long history in teacher education. The institution has officially changed its name three times, first to Colorado State College of Education, at Greeley on February 16, 1935, Colorado State College on February 11, 1957 and its current form since May 1, 1970. Approximately 12,000 students are enrolled in six colleges. Extended campus locations in are in Loveland, Denver/Aurora, and Colorado Springs. UNC’s 19 athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I athletics.

College of the Siskiyous (COS) is a public community college with campuses in Weed and Yreka in Siskiyou County in Northern California. It is part of the California Community Colleges System, serving as the northernmost college in the state of California and the only college in Siskiyou County. Touro University California is a private graduate school focused primarily on health professions and located on Mare Island in Vallejo, California. It is part of the Touro College and University System and is jointly administered with its sister campus Touro University Nevada.
The Mirror is the student-operated newspaper of the University of Northern Colorado. It is published every Monday during the fall and spring semesters, and breaks news online at www.uncmirror.com. Typically it is not published during school breaks and the paper is distributed to over 85 locations throughout the campus in academic buildings, residence halls and apartment buildings. Some local businesses also receive copies. The publication is funded by student fees as well as advertising for local businesses. The newspaper operates out of its own building on 16th Street, one-half block from campus, and employs an average of 80 students a year.
Samuel Merritt University (SMU) is a private university focused on health sciences and located on the Summit campus of the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, California. It is an affiliate of the Sutter Health Network and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. It is the only provider of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physician assistants and is the largest source of nurses in the greater East Bay. Formerly known as Samuel Merritt College, it was founded in 1909 as a hospital school of nursing.
Napa Valley College, formerly known as Napa Junior College and Napa Community College, is a public community college in Napa Valley, California. It is one of California's 116 community colleges. The tree-lined main campus in Napa, California sits on 160 acres overlooking the Napa River and includes a Performing Arts Center, a Child Development Center, a Business Development Center and the Napa Valley Vintners Teaching Winery. An Upper Valley Campus in St. Helena includes the Napa Valley Cooking School, training aspiring chefs. In 2014–2015, the total enrollment was about 8,559.

Estero de Limantour State Marine Reserve (SMR) and Drakes Estero State Marine Conservation Area (SMCA) are two adjoining marine protected areas along the Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County on California’s north central coast. These marine protected areas cover a combined 4.04 square miles (10.5 km2), with 1.49 square miles (3.9 km2) in the SMR and 2.55 square miles (6.6 km2) in the SMCA. Drakes Estero SMCA prohibits the take of all living marine resources from Drakes Estero except the recreational take of clams and formerly the commercial aquaculture of shellfish pursuant to a disputed state water bottom lease and permit, which has been the subject of ongoing legal proceedings since 2012, when the lease was allowed to expire.
The Monroe F. Swilley Jr. Library serves as the information center for the Cecil B. Day campus of Mercer University in Atlanta. It is named in honor of the late Dr. Monroe F. Swilley, the first chairman of the board of trustees and only president of the Atlanta Baptist College (1968–1972). When the Atlanta Baptist College merged with Mercer University in 1972, Dr. Swilley assumed the Mercer University position of vice president.
Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy (PHA) was founded in 1953 as a Seventh-day Adventist Elementary and Junior High School in Pleasant Hill, California. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. It is an elementary, middle school, and high school, PHAA is a co-ed school, and is fully accredited with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities.
