University Of Swabi (Pashto : د صوابی پوهنتون; Urdu : یونیورسٹی آف صوابی; abbreviated UoS), is a public sector university situated in Anbar, Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. [3]

Overview & History

University of Swabi is established by KP government in Anbar, Swabi in 2012. Back in 2012, the ANP led Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decided to upgrade Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan campus to full-fledged University using the royalties of electricity generation and tobacco of Swabi district. [4]

The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in 28 teaching Departments such as Agriculture, Law, Economics, Computer Science, Linguistics to name a few. [3]

The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) is a public university located in Mardan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Established in April 2009, the university is named after Abdul Wali Khan, a prominent personality of Pashtunkhwa and has forty nine institutions affiliated to it. The university started in an already-built postgraduate college of Mardan, has nine campuses and more than ten thousand students enrolled in thirty one disciplines as of 2015. The campus at Swabi was opened in October 2010 in the Anbar elementary college building and has since then become the University of Swabi and the Palosa campus is home to Bacha Khan University. Currently the university has five faculties and three constituent colleges. The faculties are Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences, Faculty of Physical & Numerical Sciences, Faculty of Economics & Business, Faculty of Social Sciences. The Pashtunkhwa College of Art, Womans' College and the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College are also constituent colleges of the University.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, previously known as the Frontier Women University, is located in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It was formed as result of an order from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in 2004 and the university has been functioning since 2005.

Bacha Khan University

Nisar Muhammad Khan Pakistani playwright, scriptwriter, broadcaster

Nisar Muhammad Khan was a Pakistani playwright, scriptwriter, broadcaster, and director of the Radio Pakistan. Besides contributing to Pashto language and culture, he is also credited for writing books, including Speen Tumbal on Pashto music and another one Aghosh-i-Kausar covers the life of Bilal ibn Rabah, a companion of Islamic prophet Muhammad.
